are you really saying that the pre-production prototype bed is not noticeably smaller than the unveil prototype bed?

It is “clearly” smaller.

If instead all you’re saying is the unveil prototype itself was never the promised production bed, so there is no comparator for determining ‘shrink’ - then sure!

Well, the width is logically smaller because it now has wheel-wells where it did not. And Elon said it would be. But for all we know, the inner walls might be wider than they were, and that just happens to add wheel-wells.

But we've not had, say, the same basket-ball sitting on both beds clearly showing a difference in width.
