Memory Storage Device for Sentry Mode / Cameras ?

Greetings!
The Cybertruck will be my very first Tesla.

I hear I will need some sort of storage device for the cameras.
Since I'm such a n00b, I have no idea if it's a Flash Drive, Memory Card, or SSD.

What do you all use? Thanks!

Teslas require a USB thumb drive for recordings. I believe the most current models have a USB port in the glovebox for this purpose, so the CT will likely as well.

New vehicles are delivered with a 128GB drive installed. You only need replace it if you desire a larger one.

Tesla sells a specific SSD with an enclosure, but you can get one much cheaper elsewhere of course:

I don't think that anyone really knows why, but not all devices that go in, come out alive.

First thing to think of is don't use anything cheap, there's a lot of video going on.

I'd recommend starting with what comes with the vehicle and learning what it does before expanding it.

It seems like it. Just make sure it has the MB speed. That NVME looks impressive tho.

From Tesla manual:

Some features require you to use a USB drive (for example, Dashcam, Sentry Mode and Track Mode, if equipped) that meet these requirements:​

• Minimum storage capacity of 64 GB. Use a USB drive with as much available storage as possible. Video footage can occupy a large amount of space.
• A sustained write speed of at least 4 MB/s. Note that sustained write speed differs from peak write speed.
• USB 2.0 compatible. If using a USB 3.0 drive, it must also support USB 2.0.
• Properly formatted (described below).

I never figured out what the deal is, but Samsung T5 SSD drives work fine for me. I have had problems getting a T7 Samsung SSD to work in two different Teslas....Anyone else experience this?

Whoa, that's good to know. I'm probably gonna buy the Tesla 1TB drive. It cost a lot but hopefully it will stand the test of time.

It seems as if there is no need to do anything right now.

Especially if you have a Foundation order that I believe said "everthing's included"
