Yeah, curious where he heard that info. Not all he YouTube videos is accurate as he generally just summarizes news and some sources can be a bit sketchy at times. I do still find his stuff interesting though and subscribed. Anyhow just wondering if someone else ran across whatever he found and could site the source for myself to read/watch. I am thinking he is putting steering into the drive train category? Not what I personally think of as drive train...

I will honestly say, for the cost/weight/space of the range extender a diesel generator and tank in the same spot might amount to a better solution even though its no longer a BEV then. BTW, I hate this idea but I am being practical here.

Bit burned myself over the range reduction specifically for the Tri. Without a doubt it was a miss. My conclusion on that is based on the fact it was a Tri specific option. I believe this because all variants of the CT would have originally been marketed with the same up to high range had the extender been the original idea or solution. Taking up bed space I am not fond of at all for truck usage. Multiple options I would have preferred such as using the cargo under the bed space as an example. The fact there seems to be no plumbing/port for a BMS extension (that I am aware of) is another clue to it being a save face after thought.

I had noticed that video earlier and started watching the first part of it, but once he started just talking about the turning radius updates (which will be done via software) that Elon had already tweeted about - in this video that used the term "Hardware Upgrades..." in the title - then I stopped watching it right there.

While I like Sam Evans, he tends to make great quantities of videos, which sometimes rushes the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . Likely everything he said in the video is accurate or plausible, but sometimes I've seen him just repeat a tidbit already shared or posted. This video seemed like it was going in that direction.

Sam's channel is mainly for entertainment purposes. New information content is on the low side. He has a low annoyance presentation style that keeps me clicking on his videos, but as I watch and listen, I find myself making mental corrections to things he says.

Yeah if you following daily Tesla/EV posts, news, etc., due to time of video editing, his "news review" are a good 1-2 days old. Honestly, it is to be expected.
