Re: wheel well taking up a LOT of the "frunk" space

Just TWO angles of the wheel well below. Dup pict so they are next to each others for ease of viewing.

Screenshot of Cybertruck wrapped like a F150, also sneak peak under the frunk. _ Tesla Motors ...jpg

See wheel well below -- Ignore yellow rectangle crumple zone.

I don't think that the frunk will go near the wheel wells. It will be in front.

Clearly the Minor Non-Powered Frunk (vs Ford "Mega Powered Frunk" - :D:rolleyes:) had to go in front of the wheel well.

My implication was potential and should have been written:
wheel well taking up a LOT of the [potential] "frunk" space

We actually don't know this part. No one from Tesla who would put their name to it has said this.

OK, I was just going on what Elon said at the last quarterly. Didn't he say less than 19' and 6' bed. If you believe one you kind of have to believe the other, don't you? I don't claim any extra knowledge.

Sounds like the 6' thing is almost guaranteed if it is part of the Section 179 deduction ("... full-sized truck bed at least 6 feet long.").

No, because they're not exact numbers.

Well, at the unveiling he said 6 1/2 foot bed and at the quarterly he said 6 foot bed, so I am pretty sure that approximate numbers must be good to 6 inches. As for the length, I do not mind it being 19' as much as my wife does, and if it is 18' I am also fine. I don't have a dog in that fight. In fact, the only fight I have a dog in is the 3 mm stainless and 500 mile range fight.

I wonder how many people that buy work trucks know about this section 179 bed length rule before hand.

Interesting photoshop attempt. The END is not right. More triangle than square.

that photoshop was done on Twitter before the Frunk vid leak, based off seeing the trim piece in the bed of the other video

not a bad job!

I think with the shape of the car, they didn't have a choice on frunk design. It would have been small no matter what. If they wanted to prioritize frunk space, they'd have to redesign the whole vehicle, imo. A more traditional, square front-end like the Lightning lends itself perfectly for the perfect frunk. I think Tesla did the best they could. I'm glad it hip-level and not shoulder-level like the Rivian.
I think it’s the result of making it fit into a garage.

I believe on the quarterly earnings call Elon said it would be at least 6 feet, he didn't specify it would be only 6 feet, exactly. I'm guessing it's around 6'-03", measured along the bottom of the bed to the tailgate. The best part is we will know soon enough!
