I tried reading the Wiring Diagram, but can't make sense of it. I'm a software engineer!

Q: How many software engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. That's a hardware problem
I learned hardware first. My first computer used discrete resistor transistor logic, and needed repairs before I could learn to program.

Yep, as a kid the most readily available PC was the HeathKit lol. I understood the basics of logic circuits, but not of electronic design, so I waited to get a computer pre-assembled (IBM 5150). Been banging on keyboards ever since.

I don't even remember who made the one dad dragged home from work in 1973. All I know is the maker was out of business for over 7 years. Nobody wanted it. When dad got it, the cables between the racks had been cut by cable cutters. So as an 8yo I was repairing a computer under the mentoring of a nuclear physicist.

Took a look. All it appears to be is a wiring diagram. Nothing on what goes on in each module so of little use to diagnosing PCS issues. I now know which wires to connect into to feed power to the onboard AC charger from my own battery pack. Of course to be safe one would need to figure out how to make the system think the charge port is in use, but also keep the charge port door shut.

Or get a DCDC and feed the HV bus via the extra drive unit connection. Unless you have a Beast, then you'd need a Y cable.

Well, it happened tonight just 24 hrs from my post. I plugged my truck in for the night and got a notification that the connectors were not correctly plugged in reducing to 24 amp. I unplugged and replugged it 3x and same result 24 amp. I plugged in my model 3 and immediately started charging 48 amps. Plugged back into my CT and 24 amp limit. Oddly, I had an open ticket with same day Appointment skip the line open for something else and it has already added Replacement PCS2. Not sure how that happened. I will look at service errors in the morning.

Finally happened yesterday... Got the dreaded "AC Charging Unavailable" with "PCS2_a094" and "PCS2_a095" error codes. Scheduled service, they added "PCS Replacement" and appointment is sitting at "Parts in Transit". Hopefully arrives soon.

I've read charging at a Supercharger might still work, but tried last night with no luck. Oddly, error codes are cleared this morning and truck is charging fine (for now) at 24 amps.

Will keep the service appointment and replace the PCS as its intermittently throwing errors.

:/

Service screen showing multiple PCS2 Check Failures. I just had it in to service the driver and passenger side latch switches that had become rock hard and not moving. I also had an error one morning that said car restart issue, it might not restart. Then I had a couple of glitchy issues with powershare prompts over the paste 3 months. They blew that off as firmware updates happening at the same time and did not replicate any power issues. I asked them if they could check my PCS, but they said it was fine and no warnings. Of course the forum here helps us predict that these issues would crop up, so thank you all for posting information and I hope mine helps others. I still wonder if I have an bigger issue in that I had a PowerTrain error while on a 300 mile trip. The warning stated major failure could happen. I drove it the rest of the trip and it kept coming up on the way to my destination after each supercharger. However, on the way back it went away. The service center chalked it up to temperature issues and firmware as they added fluid, but it was less than 100ml. I told them it was 75 degrees out and had been driving for 200 miles. Service center just said it is the temperature of the transmission and not outdoor temperature....does not make sense. I remember that issue when I first got it and it was -10 degrees, then I believed it was a firmware issue. Finally, look at all the the other errors. They could be nothing or they could be something I can't tell. I did ask about the 24V-832 Inverter Recall and they said my VIN was not part of it.

Requesting my PCS failure badge too. Noticed 24A charging from mobile charger, wall charger, and powershare wall charger. Made a service appointment on 3/27 to cover PCS replacement, cantrail replacement, OEM light bar recall, and passenger window adjustment. Service set for 4/23. Unable to charge on AC this morning, but can still charge on DC. Service center requests that I charge DC until my service appointment, which is a little inconvenient, but not life ending.

BTW, my line skip did not do much for me. They want me to wait until May 4th when they will have a loaner vehicle for me to use.

So the issue is your truck is still functional and they don't have the PCS, they want you to keep driving and hope it makes it until the PCS shortage goes away.

i actually asked them if they are order the parts before my appointment, so I don't have to wait another month when I show up for my appointment. I am not sure how much driving I can do with my CT for now.

Yea good luck with that, Tesla likes to diagnose, then order parts, then wait, then install.
