Did a little scouring of the Internet and found this in the original recall for the motor
See link below
The 97-D is actually just a removal tool
Special Tools 1853255-97-D
WIPER ARM REMOVAL TOOL

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCRIT-24V456-0735.pdf

Also the 1853255–00-D has been around for a while at least since July of last year
It’s been mentioned in this forum.
Looking in the Tesla parts catalog, the wiper blade now shows 1853252–00-E. The wiper arm plus blade assembly is 1853255-00-E

The last letter is supposedly the revision, at least according to Grok.

The wiper I ordered from the Tesla shop shows 1853252-00-E on the invoice. Sucks that service told me D is the latest revision, if E is actually the latest.

Is the wiper issue now a recall? I have the "safety restraint system issue, service required" now on screen popping up multiple times per drive and was advised bring in as this is a driver airbag issue to be address and thought I'd ask for wiper recall if it is indeed a recall.

After purchase I brought to local svc center saying when picking up was told that local svc center would address front hood / drivers door / over doors alignment issue. After bringing in for apt to address this was advised all met the "spec" so not adjusting. I was letting it slide but even people who don't know me comment how bad the drivers door looks!

The wiper is not a recall.

I am having the same streaking / non-cleaning all window issues. Do you think the svc center will replace with newer version if requested?

I'm having a difficult with this as well. I ordered a replacement blade, and this is the part number in came with (photo). Been using it for a couple of weeks - no difference from the old one :(

Right before Christmas. Installed it for a road trip to Arkansas on 12/19, seemed to do ok for a few days and then back to streaking. This week we had some snow in Chicago and temps dropped to 20's - streaking is much worse, to a point where even the washer fluid is not helping.

I ordered a new wiper blade around Christmas. Mine arrived a couple days ago. The invoice indicates 1853252-00-E, but the wiper they actually sent is 1853252-00-D. I will be returning this since they didn't ship what they said they shipped, and the return process doesn't give me a blank field to let them know it's their fault.

Speaking of which, am I the only one that thinks Tesla's website sucks, along with the mobile app, especially the service request section? And why aren't actual part numbers listed on their website?

Because of our access level, I see pretty much everything. Not sure what the EPC looks like from strictly consumer level. Can you share a screen shot?

I clicked it once and spray both at high speeds stay down for awhile making loud noises. No option to bring it back up. I have to turn it off at times and sometimes that works.
If you click it once and then tap “Off” on the screen the wiper will move back to vertical and stay (until FSD activates it again)

You can also use the right scroll wheel so you don't have to take your hands off the wheel or concentrate on touching the screen right.

Mentioned to service that FSD was dry wiping often, causing scratches on the windshield. I got a new wiper blade and wiper motor (not sure why). They also said I’d be getting a new wiper arm, but it isn’t listed on the service summary. My advisor confirmed the wiper blade is an updated design.

FSD still wipes dry as soon as it’s activated, but I can definitely tell it’s much smoother and made no nails on chalkboard noise anymore.
My VIN is 496xx

I just turned mine off once I activate FSD
