This wasn’t the whistling diesel video, this was a completely different incident
I'm not talking about the Whistlin' Diesel video, just post it if you think it's good info.

But I suspect it was an impact/crash. Crashes damage vehicles, everyone already knows that. The more expensive they are to begin with, the more the repair is going to be.

I'm still trying to understand your concern here. The Cybertruck handles potholes with the best of them.

All I wanted to hear were some success stories with Cybertruck so I wouldn’t have to worry about paying 34k
If you're concerned about the cost of repairing impact damage, just buy comprehensive insurance. If you took a loan to buy the vehicle, you have to buy comprehensive insurance anyway.

This seems like an odd concern.

I hit a pothole this morning that caught my attention. I heard someone had severe damage one time and had to pay 34k. That guy had to get his tuck towed. I probably have nothing to worry about for now. But does anybody have any pothole stories to share?

You are correct to be worried. Tesla has some much confidence in the CT that its new vehicle warranty excludes any damage caused by a pot hole ( if you can believe it) or driving off road ( despite the CT having various off road options). It is my understanding that they have consistently raised these exclusions to deny warranty claims.

Do other car companies cover these things? Seems strange to me that any car company would cover damage from something like a giant pothole or off roading. The pothole damage would be considered road hazard which as others have said would be covered with insurance.

“Since the insurance paid for it, I won't comment on how it was driven; it was just that a very large pothole in our washed-out road caused all the dominoes to fall”.

It wasn't a "pothole", it was a washed-out road. The driver was speeding far in excess of safe speeds for a hazardous and unpredictable roadway.

The $34k repair cost was due to the impact breaking the suspension mounts of the rear casting, which required replacement. That must have been one hell of an impact!!

I've hit "stealth speed humps" at 35MPH+ that made a horrendous-sounding thunk when the suspension bottomed-out, but took no damage.
Sounds like he drove it like he was in a Baja Trophy Truck rally.
