Total: $2,394.15. AWD, so no $4k credit. Less $1,000 EV charger tax credit, puts me under $1,400. I have 2x200A service, they're moving my fridge circuit from the 2nd panel to the one being backed up.

Notification Wednesday that Gateway shipped, UWC shipped today. Ordered 7/2.

Yea you can only run 48 amps, I have also 2x200 there is 12 slots in the gateway and 2 are needed for the 60amp breaker for in n out power.

Tesla is supposed to provide the equipment to the installer correct?

One of my full 200A panels will essentially be a sub-panel of the gateway. On grid power, it obviously has access to the 200A service, when running off the truck, anything over 48A and the truck will shut power down. None of my breakers are being moved into the gateway. There are over 48kW worth of breakers in that panel, but there's less than 3kW typical draw. Any of the big items (HVAC, oven, other EVSEs) are in the 2nd panel, so there's little chance of me trying to draw more than 11.5kW.

We’re all different - risk tolerances, home configurations, disposable income etc. Personally, I’ve been disappointed with this “process.” I didn’t really want or need PowerShare - it just came with the damned truck so I went ahead and got two quotes through Qmerit. They were about $5000 and $5700 each - well above Tesla’s estimated $2500-$3500 average. They both commented that it was nice my main switch was right where the unit would go outside, and I already have wire infrastructure and a Gen 2 HPWC installed. Hum. $2000-$3000 I probably would have gone for it but at $5000-$5700, I don’t see the ROI benefit (for me). I lose power once or twice a year for about six seconds here in Albuquerque, NM. So I turned down both bids. Qmerit is looking for a third installer. Whatever. The Tesla shop voucher is useless since nothing is (or remains) in stock and with thousands of new Cybertrucks rolling off the assembly lines, I don’t see that changing (I hope I’m wrong, but their supply chain will need to catch up to today’s needs, and then also get ahead of an ever-increasing number of customers). Bah. Humbug. Time for my Sat morning coffee now...

I have reached out to Qmerit so they can walk me through the “quote review” process.

I am considering cancelling the Qmerit process, taking my voucher, ordering the PowerShare Home Bundle and just going out of pocket with my own installer.

I added a screenshot of my Powershare install Qmerit response timeline.

I'm in So Cal, power rarely goes out here. Therefore powershare has a limited value, maybe $1,000 more than the $4k credit from Tesla. Qmerit sent a rep to look over the installation here after I sent in photos via their app. We have a detached garage so a little more complicated. I read here on the forum that some CT owners are getting additional bids that vary a lot. So the first bid may not be the winning bid. Good luck.

The problem with Qmerit’s “process” is that the bids are sequential. You must decline a bid before they assign a second contractor to perform their walkthrough estimate. @BeFamousVideo - I would think that a detached garage will likely be >$1000 based on what I’ve experienced and researched here on the forums but I wish you luck! My finished garage is 3.5 car and is attached. The only complexity for my home is (1) my panel is in my laundry room, about the center of the home, 60’ (100’ of copper line) from where the installation is so that elevates the price with either Nomex in the crawl space or conduit installed in my garage ceiling. (2) I live in a pretty nice area with homes that are a bit more expensive than most so I think some contractors think “cha-ching” and move away from objective-based estimates.

From what I have seen, if you can find a installer that is familiar with this, and you don’t have to worry about the credits, they don’t have to go Through qSuckit to get it enabled on power share.

Is Qmerit your only option? It's been awhile since mine was installed in Prosper and I know Tesla changed some proccesses for PowerShare but mine was installed directly by Tesla Energy in May for $3500. I was told it was the minimum dollar amount for the installation.

I got a bid of almost $7000 to install the PowerShare equipment from the first installer than QMerit connected me with. I have 200amp service, I already have a Gen 2 wall charger mounted in my garage coming off a sub panel that is wired for 100amp service to the garage. It is literally disconnecting 1 wall charger and installing another (20 minute job) and then fishing the data line back down to the gateway. Gateway installs on wall right next to my panel in the basement. Couldn't be an easier job yet I see these flat fees of $1200+ to install the wall charger and $4100 to install the gateway etc. that I see in quotes above and that tells me that the installer just takes defaults from QMerits system and isn't really bidding the job on actual effort needed. I spoke to QMerit support about it and they said talk to the electric company so I reached out to them asking for a response to items on the quote and after being very communicative prior to supplying the estimate they did not return email or phone call after I asked questions so I DECLINED their estimate in the Qmerit portal. I know this means another installer is supposed to be assigned.

I have a separate Tesla certified electrician coming out to my home this next week to give me a private quote and we will see where that lands. I concur that this seems to be a vastly over inflated installation system that allows for greed to easily creep in.

I am considering escalating this directly to Troy Jones to see if Tesla can't step in and make things right for CT owners.

I received my CyberBeast 20 June. Qmerit reached out about 2 weeks later. After doing the online photos and questionnaire I was assigned an installer.
Today my assigned installer provides the attached quote..

TLDR: The final price (after the $4,000 voucher) was over 10,000…

The installer added an up-charge to the Universal Wall Connector ($580 on the Tesla site) to the tune of $1,225.50..

The installer added an up-charge to the PowerShare Home Backup Bundle ($2,500 on the Tesla site) a whopping $3,135.00.. this bundle INCLUDES the Universal Wall Connecter which they already invoiced so double charged and up-charged..

Permit cost $813 ugh..

Over $9,000 in labor..

It’s a simple same wall as my power panel install but the price suggests otherwise.

Qmerit had shown about 2 days for their review then they approved and forwarded the quote to me..

I am in the Dallas Texas area. Please review your quotes and have a savvy friend do it again over your shoulder. These installers.. wow.

My friend, I missed that entirely.. they added a Powerwall 3 as a line item under Labor.. by the time I got to the bottom and saw Labor I was spent. Thank you for seeing that. Time to reach out to that contractor. Minimizing the Qmerit back and forth might be the best route here.
