PSA check your CT: loose nut front trim pieces detaching - Service Scheduled - Resolved

Saturday was a day of wonderful garage cleaning and truck cleaning.

While cleaning my CT I noticed that the front trim pieces that go over the doors are starting to detach like other reports.

I took a couple of pictures and have a scheduled service with the Springs location 3-3-25 (delivery of parts or would be sooner).

They informed me today that they will be replacing both parts under warranty.

I have already scheduled with Auto Film Solutions www.autofilmsolutions.com to have the two pieces re-wrapped.

Everyone PLEASE check your trim pieces, if one comes off at highway speed...... could be a horrible experience.

This is the first issue I have had with my CT.

This will be the 2nd trip to the Springs SC, the New GM is making a difference the service has been pleasant, professional, on-time, and courteous...very non Tesla and I love it,

Oddly I don't see a document (link) on it.

That area can snag a good bit of wind at highway speeds, ideally keep speeds low when heading to service.

about a month after picking up my truck, my drive side piece was loose. I open the frunk and found a 5/16 nut that I tightened and brought the piece tight against the frame.

Problem is it's two separate pieces, one is glued onto that main piece that's tightened to the nut.

glad I only had to tighten the nut.

You need to keep that side piece locked down

They dont need to be replaced just a screw .go right to tesla they will do it in 10mins.not worth rewrapping

A few layers of painters tape to keep the head winds from catching it ... is what I'd do.

Yea, anything to keep the wind from getting under there and pulling will make a huge difference.

There was a detailed video on it talking about the loctite, fixes, etc aspects in 8 months ago!

Is anyone without a wrap or ppf having these issues?

wrapping requires a lot of heat and stretching / pulling on the panel - I am curious if this is related or at least affected by this process.

I was not aware of other posts about this and I appreciate the information.

Will check to see if it is the nut when I get home, would prefer that over a service visit.
