They let me, hit support button and they manually add it.
"Sorry to say that the Tesla Cybertruck is not added in our vehicle list" - after 20 minutes of trying to get someone to add me, finally got an answer. Same as I got months ago. You got lucky I think :(

Does it show up as a Cybertruck in your app? What does it let you drive as?

No they added it as the modelX. It went like this…
I messaged support under issues with app, saying I’m trying to add my cybertruck but it’s not listed in the drop down box.
they responded with, reply to this message with the insurance and registration and we will manually add it. I replied. About 30 mins later vehicle was added as the model X but the license plates match.

Eh, I'm curious how insurance and future registration uploads will play out, since the model won't match. Also, if you got into an accident now, they could say you weren't driving the correct vehicle, and you're not insured. That's what I'm always afraid of at least.

I'm still in chat with them and they're wasting my time sending me to the web portal to try to add it and stuff. lol. Support is so worthless. I'll stick to doing roadie gigs until they fully, properly, support Cybertruck in Uber I think.

yea roadie is ok I here, never done it.

suppose we will see if they re approve it when the documents expire. Lyft does have it properly added.

I still like the virtually door ding proof 1.8mm and 1.4mm thick proprietary SS skin, futuristic exterior/interior styling and minimalist look of the entire vehicle.

The SBW, RWS, air suspension, durable window glass and lack of exterior handles are just icing on the cake.

Then:
  • The all stainless "exoskeleton" had me sold on a rust proof truck that was light weight and rigid. No worries about scratched paint or salt. Hell, it'd even be phased by moderate damage like stumps, shopping carts, parking lot "door ding gnomes", etc...
  • Glass that broke. Any other truck and you'd be donning that steel ball upside your head.
  • Range was never a huge influence on my reservation, although it sounded nice.
  • The looks of the CT. I'm a fan of function over form so it looked amazing to me. I kinda liked it.
  • The 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. This is my most favorite thing about the initial reveal and the truck as a whole. It's going to be bad ass.
Now:
  • The all stainless "exoskeleton" is a disappointment. It's not a "stressed skin" design but a glued on afterthought to make it all work. Plus, it's attached to a cast aluminum substructure. Galvanic corrosion anyone? I hope it's insulated well.
  • 4 wheel steering. I thought somehow I'd have an option to steer the rear wheels manually. Would be cool for many-a-party tricks plus real world stuff. Still love it though. Never knew they were going to include it but I'm glad that they did.
  • The looks of the CT. I Like it even more now. I think the CT looks good. It looks fast.
  • Range. Range is good enough for me. I'd like more of course, but It's not my biggest concern.
  • The 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. YES!!! OMG, Tesla! You exceeded my expectations! I'm not dissapointed!

There are many other things that I'm happy with that I didn't expect (sound system, steering system, quietness inside, FSD, etc).
There are many other things that I'm NOT happy with that I didn't expect (Tesla hate, EV hate in general, vampire drain (seems better now).

Overall I love my truck. It's got it's quirks but I'll commend it as it's absolutely an amazing handling machine. It's nimble in traffic and WICKED quick. I can do "super human" manuvers that I feel I wouldn't be able to do in any other vehicle.
Ya, I agree with everything you wrote there, Then and Now

Then, 6 seats, Now seats 5

Then larger, Now made smaller to fit a single car garage!

Stainless glued onto a formed steel chassis attached to amazing aluminum castings, is not an exoskeleton.

Battery should have been larger to achieve the ranges promised, this would have been a huge advantage for those of us who want to tow more than just the kids to hockey

Being in Canada, the price has almost tripled from the time I made my reservations (2). I was looking at AWD $50K (now $135k + tax) and CB $70k (was $165k + tax) minus a minimal EV rebate which has now been completely eliminated for the purchase of any Tesla product in Canda (other imported EV's still have large rebates and even incentives that reduce income tax as a business capital purchase. I have requested my two $150 reservation fees returned to me. Just did that on Friday past. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Cyber Truck, I just can't justify (or afford) the cost or the negativity of the Brand now

I have wanted a True Electric Car/Truck since the 70's (I know shows how old I am). I used to talk to my Father many times about why we dont have electric Vehicles. Since we were both engineers , him being a Fuel Controls for Jet Aircraft and me being Computer/Process Controls Electronic Design. He didn't think it could ever be done to make an Electric Battery power enough to do it. I also told him he was being short sighted.

Move Forward to 2019, I really wanted a Electric Truck by then and not a car unless some made a Jeep Wrangler electric one. (Not the joke Stelantis calls their electric Jeep). Elon Flashes this Retro Scifi Truck onto the stage with a Electric ATV, How Cool is this, and you can reserve one for $100! $49K for 4wd Drive....I am in!

Move Forward 2024, Now we jump from 49K to 79K OUCH, and no Cash Rebate, double sucks, I almost let it go without getting it. But then I remember the 70's and how passionate I was about get a electric Truck and it here! Yes I was saving since 2018 to buy either a new Jeep Wrangler or Get the CT and if it was 49K no brainer, now after 6 years I am still short 20K from buying it outright. but I decided to go for it.

The truck is amazing to Drive, I love it 1/2 the cost of my Ram 1500 Diesel to drive not even figuring all the maintenance. I charge it once a week and drive to work and back and if extra I charge twice in that week so what. Have not traveled far yet but looking forward to it. My wife hates the look but loves the ride, it so quiet I can actually talk to her while driving lol. I hope Things settle down on these stupid protesters, I actually am more concerned about damage in my investment right now. Especially the ax job the media keeps posting and lies is really upsetting me because have Jeeps for over 30 years and love to talk about them to people that are interested, I feel the same about this Truck and all the thing it can do well, I love to teach the true about these and banish the misconceptions. Which is why I am so distressed about our world today and the lost soles to Facebook and social media who are lead around by the nose and follow blindly without really thinking for them selves, sound familiar WW2 fans? Yes My father fought in that war and I learn a lot about WW2 to be able to talk to him and many members of my family who was there, at least the ones that came back. So twisted truth of today is very irritating.
A kindred spirit. I tell people that I've been waiting for this truck for over 40 years. I wanted an electric vehicle in 1981. I've found that it was worth the wait.

I thought the whole truck would be bulletproof and was hoping it could stop higher velocity rounds like 5.56 or 7.62x51. Otherwise on my zero recall FS AWD it exceeds my initial expectations.

I placed 2 reservations mostly because they were inexpensive, the spouse suggested I do that just to be on the list, and I was interested in it for its style and technology. Once I checked it out, I found it didn't suit my needs. It was too large and the bed was too small. The features, however, were great. I canceled both reservations. I now have a reservation in for a TELO. It is far more suitable for my needs.

Thanks for that, I just put in my order and finished my side of the registration for the cheaper RWD version. The order date was 4/18/25 the dealership is projecting a June/July delivery timeline. I can't wait. It does seem like too much has been taken out to save that 10K though.
