I’m considering pre-treating my Cybertruck with a removable spray coating to prevent vandalism, but I’m not sure which product would work best. Would something like spray-on chalk be effective? Any other recommendations? I don’t think the bumper stickers I have are enough to deter people from defacing it.

It’s sad that we even have to think about such things. I briefly began a “search for 2nd place” if you will (CT blows all other EV trucks away of course). I’m looking into an F-150 Lightning, Silverado/Sierra/Hummer EV, and the R1T as something I can take into riskier places.

Unfortunately with Elon being an official politician now I don’t think they’re gonna let up on us unless there get to be CTs everywhere. I would say, even in a big city, there are plenty more days that I don’t see another CT on the road than days I do.

What about just doing a wrap?

If you really want a spray, ask these guys if their product works on stainless steel.

What would you consider a riskier place? Do you mean somewhere in Dallas specifically?

I guess a “riskier place” to me is a place lots of people are at, where there’s no security, and I can’t get back to the truck quickly.

Want to take your CT to Six Flags for the day or a Cowboys/Rangers game? Thousands of (probably drunk) people walking by, no one watching it, and it would take you a solid 20 minutes to get to it after getting a sentry notification. Hell no.

You've got to stop reading the news. It's a very, very small issue.

Reminds me in some substance of the old “broken windows” theory. Maybe not the theory itself specifically, but the research it spawned. The studies indicate that once the damage begins, it will only get worse. Putting graffiti on your truck will only invite elevated destruction. People take their cues from the surrounding environment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_windows_theory

Making cybergraffiti normal (ironic given the badging) will just make it seem acceptable and counterproductively cause proliferation.
