I too thought the reveal was terrible. So much better content and info with the reviews.
I ordered a dual motor in early April 2020. My est based on the calculators was 600-750k out but a Tesla rep told me he also order in April 2020 and his intel he was 300-400k in line.

Unfortunately I canā€™t justify the price of the tri or AWD even though I really want to. So I have told myself I will go for the single motor if it ends up working out. The way I look it though with production of the single starting at the earliest in 2025 (really 2026 with tesla estimate) plus my place in line. . .I am looking at 2027.
Hold up hold up hold up 2027???? Maaaan you got we worried! lol yikes

2 perspectives:
#1. I ordered a truck in 2019 for $50,000, 4 years later they tell me due to inflation I have to pay an additional $30,000 - thats just crazy!

#2. Ever since I learned about a model S, I wanted one. So I bought $35,000 worth of Tesla stock. Years later it had grown enough for me to buy my S. Then I learned they were going to make a truck. Even better, Iā€™ve always driven a truck, so I waited. The stock grew more and the truck was unveiled again - a quieter and smoother ride than a model S, 4 doors with the utility of a truck - and it costs about the same as an S - whats not to love?

I hate the notion the price has gone up so much. But when I look at other EVs and non EV trucks or Sport Utility vehicles and try to compare all the features and the price tags, Iā€™m willing to pay the money and roll the dice that Tesla has made it right or will make it right if its not.

This truck is either revolutionary or we have all been hypnotized into the cult of Elon. Our friends thought we were crazy when we put $100 down, waited and waited, teased us after all the news stories they heard - it will never come to fruition. They will laugh at us when we tell them we bought it, shake their heads when they see it in our driveway, and after they ride in it, be embarrassed to admit what a brilliant decision we made.
I'm still excited for it, but can't justify the Tri Motor coming it nearly 30k more than the dual.
yeah I feel you, the excitement is real

If you havenā€™t dreamt about Cybertruck at least 5 times in since Nov2019 then you arenā€™t thinking about it enough, just kidding! But getting a Beastmode will surely help you get up the queue but most likely you still wont get it before end of 2025 that too if you really get lucky
Fingers crossed on this end, hope you get yours before or right after me

My heart sank when I found out about the price (I reserved dual motor in 2019). Now, a few days later, I'm warming up to the idea of spending $80k on a car. You win, Elon. :poop:

Hurry up and draw my number already!
I knoooow! lol felt like a gamble in Vegas

I've been pretty hype about it since announcement and didn't really pay attention to Tesla or EVs before then. The more info I learned about Tesla, the more interested I became. My main attractions is Tesla's and CT's safety ratings (especially after these last few years of social decay), FSD (which I'm convinced is great as is let alone within the next decade), and the electric aspect (which means lower fuel cost and fuel independence). The production reveal doesn't change much other than price and range, which is bearable all things considered.

Anyone ordering the beast mode will probably get it in 2024 as I doubt that more than 20 k will be sold.
yā€™all are thinking about this exactly wrong

ordering a Cyberbeast will take longer to get a unit, not sooner

build mix will be ~10-1 of duals vs triā€™s

The AWD trim at $49k was a no-brainer.

At $79k, it will require someā€¦ brains
If TSLA rises.......that equates to 'gains'
I bet there are already one or two folks out in the World driving a Tesla paid for by selling shares. Who knows, some are planning the same to buy their CT.
btw. The RWD in 2019 was a true no-brainer. In fact, they were literally giving it away. $60K is on the money....should be popular if they do in fact build for mass market.

I was second day reserve for tri-motor now Beast and still holding for that model. You must figure 100k plus options. In my case I want FSD assuming 12k (which they probably wonā€™t hold to the 7.5k when I reserved). With FL tax (7%) I am at circa 120k.
They are required by California criminal law to follow through.

Why do people think it would be okay to make blatantly false statements to attract customers?

No way, the only thing that is constrained is the 4680 battery and the beast has the exact same battery as the duel!!! For every beast they sell they are probably making another 15-18 k profit as compared to the duel. It doesn't take a genius to figure out they will fill all the beast orders before they even start the duels. The margins on the beast are probably 40-50%!

youā€™re wrong

then note that this 20-200 build blend is for the Foundation series, and if you think the ultra-exclusive, invite-only, build blend doesnā€™t indicate the vibes for the general public, then thereā€™s no helping you

Finally, ā€œit doesnā€™t take a geniusā€ to glance at my PFP and at least think better of asking questions before exclaiming from your armchair a suite of info that does more to show youā€™re not up to speed than that youā€™re somehow ahead of the curve

But hey, I was just trying to help those of you thinking that by switching to tri motor youā€™re somehow guaranteeing yourself a sooner delivery.

Feel free to ride your inattention towards disappointment.

But if you want to statistically ensure a sooner delivery, selecting the tri is the last thing you should do

With the huge difference in margin between the beast and the duel, I don't understand why they would sell a duel before all the beast orders are filled, but I guess we shall soon see.

you can go see now. Look at the Vin number build blend in the other thread. 20 tri motors to 200 duals

The only reason this surprising you, is because youā€™re assuming that they can build tri motors at the same pace as dual motors, so why not.

which just means your assumption is faulty
