On my way home from Cape May, NJ. to Pa. I experienced a sudden vibration and shaking at 65+ MPH. Thought a tire was down so I pulled over and checked even though the screen read that all tires were at 50psi. Nothing wrong, started on my way again and sure enough it happened again. Any thoughts?

Reportedly the tires have a foam insert……maybe one came loose inside the tire. But the shakening part might rule that out and point to front drive train issue. Definitely worth a SC visit.

I have the same issue, hard vibrations at 60+. The SC told me to go get my tires balanced lol.

Didn't consider the foam inserts until you posted here. keep us updated!

Is that a warranty issue?
It absolutely should be. In fact, I would make sure the tire shop knows up front that you suspect the tire foam has come loose. I'm also going to ask them to proactively check all of my tires.

Mine has been doing this as well, primarily above 75 mph. It was even making the brake pedal shake and make a clicking noise. Took it into SC on Friday, waiting to hear what they find. Will mention the foam if they don't find anything else. SC tech didn't think it was a balance issue. Getting Lightbar installed as well, so that's a plus.

Is this only an issue with the Goodyear tires? My CT came with Pirelli Scorpions, do they have foam inserts?

I have scorpion tires too yes they have the noise cancelling foam that can become detached . I’ve had a wobble above 45mph for about 4 months. The SC in Alaska is aware and they have looked into sending a Mobil tech to inspect my back driver tire for foam detached.

I don’t trust my ct in at non tesla repair or tire shops, don’t need them inside my truck or driving it outside of on and off the lift deck.

SC has told me that if I purchased a new tire myself after finding the faulty factory tire they will reimburse me.

That’s expected but why they just can’t ship me a new tire to swap out even if it was not faulty should be under warranty and better than having an exploded tire or worse damaging the motors from a wobble or issue reverbing back into the drive shaft.

This is exactly what happened to mine. Got a terrible vibration around 70 mph that only got worse with more speed. Took it to a tire shop, had them unmount all four, and the drivers side rear had a chunk of foam that separated.

They removed the chunk, rebalanced the tires, has been smooth ever since.

At a tire shop for exact same problem. Did you press Tesla to send you a replacement tire under warranty? I’m going to if they find any issues
