Tesla’s Official Cybertruck Vault Divider is TERRIBLE!!?

Did I just get a defective one? Or is my Cybertruck defective? Or am I just an idiot that can’t install it?

I had the worse experience possible:

I am seriously considering returning it and getting the CyberGear version.
Has anyone used the CyberGear Version?

I think they hold their phone that way because that's the way it came in the box.

I think your product might be defective. Use this video to perform an RMA with Tesla Service / Parts. Since the video was one continuous shot, I'd find it hard to believe they wouldn't replace it for you. Another option is simply returning it completely, then purchasing a 3rd party one. These ones come with adjustable "feet" so you can use your existing bed cover without any issue - Tesla's official divider does not support this.

Thanks for confirming that my product is defective! I appreciate the tip about horizontal video too, I usually make videos for TikTok, so most of my videos are vertical

You do have a point! This was recorded on a phone, and phones are designed to be used vertically!

Strange that they sent me an old version… I literally just bought it from the Tesla online Shop just a week ago, and received it yesterday.

Installed since Aug 2024. Pin to hole alignment is key. I locked mine in, after aligning with no issue. It looks as if when you applied max force to lock in, it caused the latch mechanism to malfunction. Even after you aligned the pins to the holes appropriately, the damage you caused is not reversible.
