If you're pursuing Tesla Solar and battery installation should you get a $4000 credit towards that?

I'm currently working on a 24 panel install with a single Powerwall 3 with the Tesla backup switch and Universal charger to use Powershare. They haven't shown any kind of credit for the Foundation series.

Here's a drawing I did trying to show a maximized panel layout. The picture after that is their most recent offering. Which I think pretty much maxes it out as the new service drop at the front right of the house or bottom right of the picture needs to have a three foot radius with no obstructions. So even if I also didn't have the existing drop at the back I don't think I could push the panels back far enough to keep that last panel.

Wasn’t that install credit only with the beast?

I thought they all included something about the Powershare hardware. So a gateway version 3(?) and a universal EV charger? If you got a system through them, I thought you were supposed to get some kind of credit for that hardware however the build ended up.

ChatGPT says:

Initially, the Cyberbeast Foundation Series included a $4,000 installation allowance for the Powershare Home Backup hardware. This was intended to cover the cost of a certified installer for the Universal Wall Connector and Powershare Gateway, which are necessary to use the truck as a home backup power source.

In contrast, the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Foundation Series did not include this same installation credit.

However, a change was made around May 2024, and Tesla began offering a $2,500 voucher to all Foundation Series owners, regardless of whether they had the AWD or Cyberbeast model. This voucher could be used in the Tesla Shop to purchase the Powershare Home Backup equipment (the Universal Wall Connector and Powershare Gateway) or for other items in the shop. This change effectively eliminated the specific $4,000 installation allowance for the Cyberbeast.

I can confirm that. When I get my CB I configured it 1 week AFTER they removed the $4000 credit. All I got was the $2500 voucher.
Yes I was pissed! But I still did the PowerShare install, price was much better then most who posted their quote. I got the full house backup, and the electric who did the work still was able to keep my generator attached.
I also waited months and months for the firmware update to make it work with my solar. It’s working now, and have used it for a real power failure. Worked great, was very happy.

That sounds right but my original project manager from Tesla was saying that I could fold that into solar project I was purchasing from them. I'm just wondering if anybody else was able to do that?

I just traded my Foundation for a new 75,8** VIN July 2025 build and it's amazing the improvements they have made. The day before the trade, I used my $2500 PowerShare credit in the Shop (along with some referral reward money) to order the $3000 Goodyear Winter Tire & Cyber Wheel Package since my new AWD CT came with Core Wheels. Once the trade happened, they just moved my service appt over to my new Cybertruck and updated the VIN on the Service appt. I was sold that credit would work up until expiration, even if I sold or traded the Foundation Series, but I wasn't taking any chances.

I planned to use my $2500 voucher for the new wheel/tires set. The Gateway/Wallcharger recently became available to purchase with Voucher (for me). They sent an email with a new code to use, so I got that in about a month ago.

Cyberbeast foundation received a $2,500 credit to use on Tesla stuff but it expired in one year from issuance and you have to use all of it on your first purchase. If you buy say the tire set or even $75 windshield wiper only on the first order you lose the balance of the $2,500. M
I opted for ordering the cybertent - which uses the entire $2500 credit since the tent costs $2,975. I paid the difference - if your buying the chains than you should order a bunch of other stuff as well to use your entire $2,500 on one order.

Should it have shown up in the Tesla app or something? I don't think I ever got anything.

I purchased from Tesla the PowerShare home backup bundle from their site for $2500 and used their $2500 bundle coupon to do it. Then I reached out to Qmerit their company that find electricians in your area to install them. Their first contractor wanted $6000 to install. I made a big fuss because that wasn’t what Tesla told me. Then they found me another electrician that installed it for $2700. $300 permit, $1750 for the gateway install and and $688 for universal wall connector. So far I had only one storm that we lost power at 2am. And the cybertruck kicked in and powered my whole house including A/C and 4 refrigerator freezers. It was awesome!

Did you also have a Powerwall 3 or just the truck was powering everything? My current plan is to have a Powerwall 3 in the middle that can now deliver the 11.4 kW or whatever and then they said, supposedly the Powerwall can take power from the truck when it runs out. I'm not sure if it moves the power to the Powerwall while it's in use or if it has to drain the power wall and then it'll move on to the truck.

Fit and finish it outstanding.
- My center console doesn't creak/click anymore.
- The rearview mirror housing is flush up against the glass, my foundation had a quarter-inch gap between the plastic housing and the glass.
- The Castings front and back are powder-coated black now instead of the brownish-yellow color. Much more appealing to the eye when the suspension in high mode.
- The back of the truck bed has the floor grid that goes up about 6 inches towards the glass.
- My foundation A-pillar interior trim never lines up and wash squishy when you'd push on it. New truck has firm, perfectly lines up A-pillar trim.
- Driver's seat doesn't squeak.
- Yacht floor no longer is silver and a matte black...which I actually prefer.
- Subwoofer doesn't rattle my rear interior trim which is also glorious.
- I thought I would hate the gun metal gray interior and after seeing it in person I'm in LOVE. Not as lumpy/cellulite as the white interior looked.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head but I'll come back and update with more as I find them.

The one purchase thing changed later to allow multiple.
All Foundation originally had the Gateway +UWC which turned into a $2,500 credit.
Pre May something 2024 Beasts also got a $4k max credit toward installation .
