Let me know your thoughts. A think a lot of potential buyers are taking a wait and see approach.

$79,990 NO. $79,990 - $7,500 YES. Everybody has their price point, otherwise everyone would own a Rimac and a Rolls EV. I'm 77 Y.O., but can wait.

I have a Foundation and love it. I want a CT for our vacation home that we only use a few weeks per year. I don't need FSD for it. I would replace the Y we have there, but will only do it with the tax credit.

I know of 4 for sure buyers simply waiting for this. In Colorado we get a total of $12,500 off if the federal tax credit worked for Cybertruck. Tesla needs to get this done! Hopefully the election goes the way so the credit stays around, otherwise the mission slows and Tesla reduces price to compete with companies who are losing money on each EV sale…which means less margin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I definitely would—that's over $100 off the monthly payment. It could free up cash for a wrap and lots of cool accessories. It could be free FSD for others.

I am holding off until December. Historically, Tesla has had its best promotions or incentives at the end of the year to capture every last delivery.

I was planning to wait but now I need a car sooner than later so I’m wavering. It’s either the CT or the MX which is less money solely because of the tax credit.

from reading here, some members are saying it’s never going to qualify because of Chinese battery minerals. It’s been over a month since the price dropped below the threshold, so it is seeming less likely to happen. With stricter requirements in ‘25 plus possible elimination altogether depending on politics, who the heck knows at this point !?!

As long as demand is sufficient, Tesla is not incentivized to clarify either way.

For me, it’s less about the potential of saving $7,500, and more about the impending automatic $7,500 depreciation. I bought my Y in 22 when there were no incentives. I was happy enough to pay the $60k, for a red and white YP. But a few months later to have the $7500 rebate for other cause an instant $7500 depreciation, was less than ideal. Still love the car. Still enjoy driving it. Love not sitting in line at Costco for gas. But I’ll just be patient and let Cybertruck pricing and incentives work themselves out. I’m building a new house so o can’t buy a 6 figures truck until we close anyway, so that makes the waiting easier. I’m also hopeful that Robotaxi network will eliminate most depreciation concerns. If my Y can make me $1000 to $2000 per month net, I’ll let it work off its depreciation that way. I’ll be very happy. I’ll probably buy all 3 Cybertrucks I have reserved. 1 beast and 2 AWD. But I’ll definitely be buying 1 beast next spring either way.
the Robotaxi network unlocks section 179 potential for every Tesla owner. It eliminates the unfair income caps, and MSRP restrictions, as well.

Nah the tax credit didn’t matter to me. Unfortunately didn’t qualify.

So you’re going to buy a 80k truck you realllly want but $7500 is keeping you from that? We are talking about a few extra bucks a month on your loan. Come on man 75% of the “waiters” if they offer the credit will find another reason to “wait”.

Remember, the Colorado credit goes down each year... so if one is from CO, its best to hop on this in 2024.

Hey with all other Tesla models tanking on their used prices. Might not need the $7,500 tax credit if buying used.

Used Model Y are under $30k and people are complaining about their “Tesla” trade value of their X and S, they owe more than they are worth?!

About another year and we should be able to get a used BEAST for $50k?

I know wishful thinking.

LOL.
