Nope- just a consumer (owned 1 Dodge Ram, 2 Ford F350s, 2 Ford Rangers in my life) - preordered a CyberTruck and 3 years into a wait and so my reservations number delivery slotted for April 2026- I also saw all the Quad orders move to the front of the line.
There are no quad orders (or any orders). There are only reservation numbers for single, dual, and tri motor variants, and Tesla tends to let people change when their number comes up. No one knows for sure when production will start, how long it will take to ramp to full production, how many trucks will be produced at full production, or how long it will take Tesla to produce all the variants.

I don't have or need a truck but I want the CT. I will wait. Late 2025 I think.

No one knows. We also don't know which configuration is first, Elon said last it would be quad, but we don't know for sure. (Even he probably doesn't know.)

I suspect he knows now 2 months ago probably not.

I have a six year old GMC Yukon XL Denali. I can wait 5 to 10 years. My other Yukon lasted 16 years, barely. Cybertruck is the answer. If gasoline gets too expensive before then, Model Y it is.
Same here! I don't want to test dumb.

As long as it takes...

Day-3 Tri-Motor CT reservation holder here, and I'll likely take delivery of a Fisker Ocean Extreme later this year as a holdover to the CT.

I'm already locked in to the Federal incentive with a firm order pre-Aug. 17th, 2022 so only makes sense to take it even for a quick flip.

Ocean Confirmation 2 Edit.jpg
I was under the impression that you had to take physical delivery by the April grandfather clause deadline to be eligible for the Federal Tax Credit. That it has nothing to do with preordering but actual physical delivery.

Credit Amount
The amount of the credit depends on when you placed the vehicle in service (took delivery), regardless of purchase date.

For vehicles placed in service January 1 to April 17, 2023:
  • $2,500 base amount
  • Plus $417 for a vehicle with at least 7 kilowatt hours of battery capacity
  • Plus $417 for each kilowatt hour of battery capacity beyond 5 kilowatt hours
  • Up to $7,500 total
In general, the minimum credit will be $3,751 ($2,500 + 3 times $417), the credit amount for a vehicle with the minimum 7 kilowatt hours of battery capacity.

For vehicles placed in service April 18, 2023 and after:
Vehicles will have to meet all of the same criteria listed above, plus meet new critical mineral and battery component requirements for a credit up to:

  • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the critical minerals requirement only
  • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the battery components requirement only
  • $7,500 if the vehicle meets both
A vehicle that doesn't meet either requirement will not be eligible for a credit.

Elon surely knows but he will never tell us. I do not know why. It seems to me that once they build the first production prototype at Austin they could release features, specs, and trim order but I don’t think they will as they never have.

Elon is creating anticipation. Apple does this an it works. Having folks provide their own reaction once they get one is way better than any one person or advertising team could ever hope to achievr.

Wasn’t the semi supposed to be quad motor and they made it tri motor to get better mileage? Also the model S Plaid is tri motor. There are currently no quad motor Teslas and that makes it appear that CyberTruck will not have a quad motor option. Any opinions about this?

APRIL 21, 2020 Trimotor order, estimated place in line per spreadsheet is 425,xxx in line. I always new that the time to build start was way too optimistic. I had guessed Sept. 2022 start of production. My guess was I would get mine Sept. 2023. I am projecting mine will now be delivery early 2025. That is great, I will then pay in cash.

I am patient. I will wait as long as it takes to get the ultimate EV truck.
