I've had a DeLorean for over 20 years, no one has ever said "nice car, too bad about the fingerprints"
Some people are OCD, it’s not about what others think.

My bet is that that will be the standard rim and it will come with the aero wheel covers you see in the video just like the model y and 3.

IKR… I thought for sure he was going to swing the camera back and peak into the back seat… With all this hype, I’m afraid I’ll be let down when we finally do get to see it. Only thing back there could be the rear console right? Or flat folding seats?? Damn, just show it already!!!
Bro, have you not seen this? This is from the Beta all the way back at the Investor Day 5 months ago. Gives a decent look at the back. I imagine production is close to this, maybe minus the screen on the damned new added center front console (I want/need a 6 seater!).

IMHO, I believe that the doors and the tailgate are not fully fastened/closed/secured.

Let's say you get your CT and it has those major panel alignment issues. If it's the shape of the panel that is off, not the position, can they fix that at the service center or does it need to go back to the factory?
That's a great question! And do you refuse delivery at that point if it does look like this? And then have to wait another 8 years for your CT?? lol. I am heartened by the argument that some have brought to this thread that suggests these indeed aren't for sale to the public, that they're still dialing in the press alignment and these will go for crash testing, etc. Especially what the one guy said about his late model Y being much tighter than the 2020.

Early Rivian had similar issues on their roofs and they are due to misalignment of the factory jigs and there is nothing Rivian can do.

"Nothing they can do" should actually be thought of as nothing they can AFFORD to do. The ultimate fix is just to take back defective vehicles and replace with an new one that isn't defective. Some states have lemon laws that address this kind of issue but there is often a short time limit from what I've seen.

Of course this would be a huge cost to Rivian and in their current financial state might just sink them so it is probably not possible for them to survive that kind of service level.

I have a 2020 MY and I didn't refuse delivery even though the gaps were uneven because that's not something I've ever noticed or cared about on a car. However, with the stainless steel offset in these pictures it looks like you could seriously cut or scrape yourself if you slid along the side of the car.

I think regardless of whether it gets sent to the factory or the service center for repair you won't be sent to the back of the queue and have to wait years. It may be a difference if days vs weeks.

I've had stainless kitchen appliances for 15 years. I think people will get pretty tired of finger prints. These things will get PPF'd more than painted tesla's for that reason alone.
I think they’ve made great advances with finger print resistant stainless steel appliances in the last few years.

Service center can fix it

I resonate with your frustration about the center console. I really was hoping for a 6 seater. I cant believe the model y would offer a 7 seat version and their biggest and best camping vehicle would only offer 5 seats. I am really hoping it is an add option at least. I will fork out $3k for that center front seat.
