Looking at the picture showing the driver's seat, I am wondering how good the visibility will be. The pillar between the windshield and driver's side window seems to block quite a bit of real estate. I know that this will be argued, because heaven forbid anything negative is said, but it is concerning.
You are 100% right. This has been brought up before but a lot of times negative items are just glossed over. /s

That A-pillar extends out a *long* ways and that support column is very wide.

That was a little snarky...Wow. This lack of visual siteline could cause an accident. Granted, the driver wouldn't be hurt, but others sure would be. I want to be able to see if there is a kid on a bike, an oblivious person on a cell phone or a dog running into the road, for example. Those are much more likely happenings, and it would be good if they could be prevented.

6. Speaking of the bed, but looking at the side-walls, the rollover was to the passenger side, and at 0:09 in the video it appears that shards of casting are punctured through the bedside
It’s been a good number of years since my time in the car business but the way I remember it is the side that you’re going to have initial impact on is the one that deploys. Cars have a tip sensor and once you hit the oh shit barrier on it that’s when the inside turns into a marshmallow before impact.

Did you not see what they are doing to the refreshed M3??? Problem solved.... and they connect to 2 different BT headsets at the same time.... you must have to think that they would bring all the latest tech to the truck as it's not even out yet... so fear not!!

You guys do know you don't want doors to pop open in a crash, right? So they often don't open after a crash, either.

And if crumple zones are engaged, the panels are no longer going to be aligned?

That is true... the doors stay latch to maintain structural hardness... that's why they always come to any seen with the JAWS OF LIFE... so handle or no handle.... same same.

Wow the backseat doors are so high up before there is window. :(

Poor kids will never be able to look out the window. This is gonna be a hard sell for my wife. :(
The kids will be watching the small screen. I don't know if kids these days understand what looking out a window means.

I remember when the editor of PC Magazine confused his children by bringing home a typewriter. "So, it's like a keyboard, with a printer built-in? That's dumb"

Some of the latter electronic typewriters were kinda dumb, honestly!

At the point that it could memorize what you were typing and spit it back out...

The side mirrors ARE removable!
That was one hell of a shopping trolley, would that be a standard test for all vehicles and if so it would be good to see some pictures of the Rivian and Ford to compare.

The purpose of a crash test is NOT to see if the vehicle is still drivable (ok, maybe on the 5mph one), but is the crash SURVIVABLE! Look at the passenger compartment. That thing rolled over, and. anyone in there would have SURVIVED! Isn’t that your first concern? I don’t give a rat’s butt about a crease in the bed or what trim pieces came off, I care if me and my family are STILL ALIVE! Look at the conventional truck pics that are posted here. Which one would you want your loved ones to be in???
rock, but don’t roll
