Rumor: $98900 price for tri-motor Cybertruck??

I’d pay around $100K for the specs from reveal night, but with the way things are looking $100K sounds absurd.

I’d bet (metaphorically) that we see

• CT (Dual) 340Mi for $69K
• CT Performance (Tri) 320Mi for $79K

Note: This is pure speculation on my part and if anything possibly on the high side based on EM’s previous commentary

I reserved the dual and willing to pay $70K. For the tri, I would go up $80K.
Otherwise, I will get another EV and take advantage of the returns thatv I am getting on the TSLA stock, since I started to heavily buying it, when I made my deposit in Dec/2019.

Its worth it to me at that price IF its got a 500 mile range battery AND its got all the options they are offering.

If its 150 or so less miles its not worth more than $88k with all the options (since FSD is kindoff a fake option I’m not including that)

500 Mike Tri motor was fine with a lot of people at reveal night for $69k.

If they do that, then you will be taking a bath as they say 'Not even Tesla can make EV trucks cheaply' and the reservation list collapses. Then, if they do lower prices, the stock will collapse more. 'They can't sell them at the price they make the!' Just like the news this month, despite Tesla still being way more profitable than other automakers after their discounts.

I agree Crissa, if Tesla doesn't make a valid attempt to (keep their word) with reservation holders that made a psychological(and $100) commitment to Tesla on vehicle prices and specs Tesla said they were going to build. There will be a huge backlash. Just like when Rivian raised their prices on reservation holders and had to reverse course, and honor those commitments. As a shareholder, I see that as a very real possibility.

If the cost of a 2023 model s 100kwh battery is 12k, I would hope that the 4680 packs cost less than 24k for a 200kwh.

People need to stop comparing the model x to the CT though, the most luxurious SUV Tesla has to offer, complete with sensors they had to literally re-invent that could penetrate through the doors because the existing sensors couldn't cut it, and placing them on the outside of the door panel was unacceptable... it's not apples to apples.

The cybertruck is meant to be the barebones truck of trucks, not Elon's "Faberge egg of cars"

If Tesla releases the CT at 100k, I personally view it as a failure.

I believe the post is 100% legit.

The $99k Tri Motor MSRP doesn’t surprise me.

A Quad Motor large battery pack Rivian R1T starts around $90k. It doesn’t have the superior technology of a Cybertruck such as the 800 volt charging architecture, best in the biz software, RWS, 48-volt electrical system, possible steer by wire, etc.

I have been warning reservation holders to be sitting down when official MSRP’s are revealed. I am expecting a 40% increase over 2019 pricing.

The Cybertruck is loaded with new technology and it will come with a premium price point. Reservation holders need to have a Plan B deposit in place.

This forum will be on ? when official 2024 Cybertruck pricing is announced to the public. Members bitching about Cybertruck pricing will be off the hook.

If you think the tri-motor is matching the specs from unveil, it would possibly to be a class 3 truck.

I'm not financially limited and I would not purchase a quad motor Rivian for the prices they are charging today. I got mine for ~$80k and I considered that a fair price for a lifestyle truck. I ended up selling it due to service center distance, CCS and rapid depreciating prices.

Tesla understands the affordability crisis of today's market. Could tri motor with unveil specs be $100k, absolutely. There are only few customers willing to pay that. The market for $100k truck is so small. Why even build it?

whatever shareholder consequences you see in the above, compare to shareholder consequences of failing to deliver any CyberTruck, or not for two+ more years

Setting aside whatever “valid attempt to keep their word” means

if there’s PR[/feelings] consequences, fine that’s debatable - but there was no “commitment” by buyers, nor ‘commitment’ by Tesla - people who bang that drum [regarding some contractual-like obligation] are clueless

IMO, $100K is only viable with the specs originally announced for the "Tri-Motor" (500Mi, 0-60 @ 2.9s, etc.). Any significant departure from this and it becomes non-competitive with other offerings.

Its not viable for that either. No way they can justify a 30k increase.

It would be fun to watch that stock tank as the reservations fell.
