Bed looks nice and feels secure with the cover. I assume most people will drive with it closed. unlike a typical truck, CT cover blocks the rear view mirror so I am thinking there must be a digital mirror either like Bolt at the place of the mirror or on the main screen. Has anyone seen anything that tells you how it operates? is it always on when the cover is closed?

The prototype had a digital mirror that was working with the cover open. It was shown in some of the videos from people going for rides, the night of the reveal.

I saw a snippet of video a while back, viewing the truck from the rear, and you could see the rearview mirror thru the roof glass. (I'll look for it to link to, but I can't for the life of me remember: where, when, or who?!?) As I recollect it, the mirror was clearly in "display mode" i.e. much brighter than it would have been if it had merely been a mirror. It convinced me definitively that mirror would act as camera display, but also makes me think that a fair amount of rear view (albeit a high view) was visible thru the roof glass in regular mirror mode even with the tonneau closed. I started searching other videos to find the lowest angle where the mirror was visible, but that was the ONLY one I could find.

Has anyone else seen the one I'm thinking of? or others that provide a definitive lowest angle view?

That would be great. I think this is the demo night shot:

It looks like there is a good chunk of display is being used to see behind you. However mirror is not at the highest point of the interior so I wonder if you could see a sedan behind you through the glass on top. You could probably see objects a little farther behind you. If someone have a photo standing behind CT without glare to see if mirror is visible at eye level, then we may be able to pull out the chickens and make some deductions to figure out if top of a sedan will be visible.

you can see the mirror in OP’s video. If this is eye level, view through the glass ceiling should be limited for closer objects:

"The best part is no part". Why engineer and build a digital rear view mirror (with added costs) when you've already got the camera near the rear license plat and screen to display it on?????

(except to handle the driver habit of looking at the rear view mirror)......

I actually prefer Lower digital mirror because if I don’t have a regular mirror and I have to change my focus from distant road to a close display, I will be looking at the display through my reading glass and lower will be more convenient. But I do prefer regular mirror when possible. If the aero penalty is not significant especially at lower speed, I probably leave mine open.

Obviously because it waste a huge part of the screen.

I check my rear view mirror for more than backing up.

a) looking to changes lanes on a highway I look at the side mirror and the rear to see is someone is coming up fast
b) if all the car ahead of me stop quicker than normal (expected) then I glance at my rear view to see if there are cars following too close or are closing in ... gives me an option to figure out an exit if necessary.

There is some value in convention (a dirty word these days) too. I drive my wife‘s car almost as often as I drive mine. Any controls that are different distract me from driving and using those that are the same is second nature to me. This multiples when I use a rental car since I may have no previous experience. in the example you mentioned; looking at the mirror trying to avoid getting rear ended a fraction of a second can make a difference.

I like a regular mirror for something much less significant. A digital mirror wast both power and processing power. I know it is small but still bugs me. It can have other advantages though. Stitching left, right and center mirror digitally can give you more.

Your green line is correct.

The trap door is storage.

That bed is giving me some serious concern. If you place something square and large enough it is taller then the roof then it will actuallt hit the roof before it hits t he back of the bed if it is not lashed to the sides . I believe that some people are going to be in for some expensive repairs .

I feel like it will be a small miracle if that tonneau cover doesn't rattle while you're driving.
'Shake, rattle 'n roll'
I'll take mine shaken, stirred or stiff.....Cheers!!!!
