when elon states that all 2024 orders will soon be fullfilled, imo he's talking about FS and their estimated deliveries of throughout 2024 are soon to be fullfilled (ahead of schedule). hence, for the rest of us, production is beginning.
You're thinking he meant all orders that have been placed so far in 2024 are about to be fullfiled? And they will be able to fulfill many more incoming orders? This is a less doomsday take. And I like it.

Hope you're right.

Edit: I just replayed it. It's not Elon who says it. I don't know voices. But this guy said if the trend continues we will soon sell out all the build in 2024.

Earnings call topic that needed it's own thread.

Foundation Series will own 2024 it seems.

Per Tesla: Cybertruck reservation to order conversion rate has been "very encouraging". If the trend continues, and it likely will, we will soon sell out all the build in 2024. "Demand is off the hook"
I thought there was a few more lines after that (below text) :p

Saw this meme going around ...
Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck is almost sold out for 2024. Reservation conversion rate very encouraging (per Q4 2023 earnings call) 7MfHXpo

right. that's the only conclusion that makes sense to me. he sounded optimistic at that statement and sounded like yep, all those orders are almost fulfilled, which i think makes sense if they're pumping out 100/200(?)/day. i'm guessing at 1,000, FS is done. tacky af to make more than that.

Was that actually Elon’s voice?

Wow, this is an incredible statement by Elon on many levels. My primary takeaway is that Foundation Series will not be nearly as exclusive as previously expected (nothing new to many on this site).

A full year's production in 2024 will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k CTs (yes nobody knows but it is in the ballpark and a nice round number). As far as we know Tesla is only offering Foundation series so it is likely that all of 2024 will be Foundation Series. A full year's worth of "limited edition" seems a bit excessive.

If reservation conversion remains high, I see no reason for Tesla to offer the standard versions of the CT. We could see Foundation Series as the only version offered into 2025 as well. Tesla is going to milk as much as possible out of early reservation holders.
1. If the conversion is higher than 10%, they would give us some ball park number. I think its somewhere 1-2% of 2mil initial reservation. but its still 20K-40K orders.
( 5 my friends who reserved CT did not even consider ordering FS, they laughed at new price and cancelled) this is why they are desperately sending a invite to many (now its 11285XX or higher)
2. Given the current VIN creation pace, yes, Tesla might be able to fulfill most of 20-30K orders in 2024, so he was not telling a lie:)

Elon was talking about $100K FS only, there is non-FS CT in his head.
I do not think Tesla can build more than 40K units in 2024. If they could build 100K or 125K, its $10B or $12B revenue!!, they should have been far more bullish during the conference, but did not see any excitement. so my conclusion is 30K unit all FS and $3B in CT revenue in 2024 at best case

Such optimism here about getting their $80,000 Cybertruck with $7500 tax credit. It is not happening this year.

2024 is the year of the FS, plain and simple. It will be 10,000, 20,000, or however many units they want to make. Not only is the production ramping up slow, we are beta testers for this new vehicle with lots of differences between the S3XY lineup. Don't forget powershare installations. If you didn't order the FS, 2025 is just around the corner!

All I can say that, as I expected, and as they have done during other product starts, the earning calls don't say much of anything that people want to hear.

All that was said here, is a couple of off-the-cuff remarks that sound as if they were incomplete in context.

As far as I'm concerned, much ado about nothing. The numbers really don't seem to have changed since the last call.
