Why? Does it hurt your feelings that I am pissed off? WTF do you think a forum is for? Circle jerking? I have waited longer than literally everyone… I am in Fremont and I have the one of the lowest possible reservation numbers…. So basically it is hard to justify being a fan of a company that does not treat it customers fairly. I could not give a crap about anyone else , I was first in line (nearly) and I was skipped, which from my understanding is VERY VERY rarified air, especially being next to the factory. So yes, I’m pissed off, because I won the random lottery of this level of disappointment. Sometimes, misery truly does love company and venting on a public forum, you find out a few select others that might have been randomly chosen to be f’d by Tesla’s faceless (and non existent) customer service.
The Cybertruck (to me) is only cool if I own it…
Brah...what about the people who pre-ordered the Roadster in 2017?

Elon has to be very careful with what he says in these calls because the wrong statement could tank their stock even further than it’s already dropped recently. He’s always going to present info in the most positive way possible.

Remember, this is the same man that promised us a 500 mile, 69K truck ?
Well, I take it you aren't a well read investor. Those earnings calls have rules (along with almost everything the leadership says) that are subject to SEC review. Running a publicly traded company means there are things you CAN say, and things you CAN'T. One of the things on the naughty list is knowingly lying about anything that will affect your business. And the stock will reach the lows and highs it will reach in die time if there is bad news.

And, if you wouldn't mind, please point to any point in the announcement of the CT where ANYTHING was "promised", or guaranteed, or committed to, or in any way solidified. I'm pretty sure you won't find it. Mostly because it was never promised, it was a target. I understand you took it as a guarantee, but it wasn't. That's not on them, that's on you. Words have meanings. You don't get to change them because you misunderstood them.

For anyone actually listening - Musk repeatedly said that CT production would be immaterial to Tesla financials in 2024 - that's code for very low production rates at a higher per unit price to help cover higher initial production costs (hence the FS variant). This was clear as day to me all along. Anyone who thinks any significant ramp will occur in 2024 is likely going to experience disappointment.

The overall narrative that Musk and others have repeatedly talked about is that building the CT has been very challenging and ramping a CT will be very challenging as a result. All of the actual commentary from multiple internal Tesla sources has repeatedly indicated that the CT is not like other mass production ramps - and therefore we should all temper expectations when making comparisons to any other vehicles that Tesla has brought to market with respect to production ramp. I'd be really surprised if anything north of 30k CTs were produced for all of 2024 with this in mind. Musk said production ramp would take roughly 12-18 months minimum. We all know Musk is an eternal optimist whenever he makes these kinds of predictions.

I also heard of couple of other noteworthy comments on the quarterly investors call yesterday with respect to the CT. One, the CT is not battery constrained - at least at this point in time - 4680 production is outpacing CT production - this indicates that it is the actual CT production that is most challenging and will be slower to ramp. Two, the CT is not a technology leading vehicle meant to foster new production methodologies for other mass production vehicles - for example it has no bearing on the upcoming mass market supposed $25k price point vehicle which will be using unboxed nextgen manufacturing methods never before seen (we shall see of course). Don't expect features unique to the CT to migrate into other mass production vehicles in other words - though they didn't explicitly mention which features they were referring to (48v? steer by wire? rear wheel steering? etc.).
Well stated. Thank you!

If the "Take-Rate" was so darn great, why do they keep moving on to higher RN #s at such a high rate of speed? Yes, I know they are not going sequentially and have skipped over people, but why continue to move on to higher and higher RN #s? Since they are moving on to higher and higher RN #s, don't think the take rate on FS is that great. I'm RN # 112966xxx and I believe (in my own silly mind) that they will be sending out FS invites to RN #s that are up around my number by March or April, at the rate they are moving on to later RN #s. If they send out invites to people around my number, I have a chance to get an invite at that time.
Very early reservation holders who got an invite 8th of Dec did not have much information on FS, it was like "limited" "maybe 1000units" "order or lose reservation" , so people placed an order with refundable $250. Since then people get more info and learned they can just ignore the invite and wait for non-fs. hence take rate went down dramatically. I think Tesla will still secure 30-40K FS orders, which is what they are looking to build in 2024.

You’re right about one thing Pete, I’m not a well read investor. I made the statement that you basically confirmed. Elon has to be careful with what he says. So we’ll read or not, you agree with me.

Secondly, if you had come across ANY of my previous posts regarding “promises” that were made you would know I’m not one of the people who ever complained about the truck. I was only making the point that some folks selectively believe what Elon says. They were holding him to a “promise” made in 2019 about price and range then hanging on every word in the investor call looking for something to confirm what they believe. Like I’ve said before, people pick out what confirms their beliefs. I made my reservation on reveal day, ordered my truck on December 21st and am waiting patiently for my VIN. The truck will be perfect for my use case and I’m excited.

Save the whole “he didn’t promise and that’s on you” BS for someone you know ACTUALLY complained.

The anger is certainly justified, to say the least. No matter what the RN it is really hard hearing of other’s invitations, orders, getting VINs, and getting their trucks. MUCH more so if you are left behind.

I hope so, because at that # and the conversation rate I might have a shot!

But the value is amazing. Super capable. High range. Low price (for launch). And resale when your CT came would've been nice.

Or before if you're into that lol

I went to San Diego UTC store yesterday to show my Dec 22 order and the lady ensured me my delivery will be in Q1. (I don’t have a VIN yet)

I just saw a production Cybertruck on CA 92 westbound just west of the San Mateo bridge and onto 101 north. I waved from my blue Model Y. If you are on the forum, thanks for making my day!

(Please forgive me if this was already covered/answered) Is the educated guess that only ‘FS’ AWD and CB will be manufactured in 2024?

We are of two minds. But right now I am going with no. That's not the case
