What are teenagers problems with Cybertruck?

I don’t know if others have similar experience, but as I drive around in CT, most reactions are good/fun, but I’ve had several teenagers flip me off, yell “I hate your truck”, and just today, a girl roll down her window and just yell “F*ck You”.

Perhaps it’s the storyline that they’re dangerous? Or bad for the environment? Something on TikTok saying they’re evil?

To be clear, I don’t really care that there are people that don’t like it, I love the truck and care about my reasons. But I am curious some of the why’s behind the hate, and it’s been interesting to hear other owner’s exp with different groups.

I have had excellent responses from teenagers but found the 28-38 white male hipsters in Seattle seem to hate on it.

Yes.. i saw the same response in N. Ca. I thought its a jealously or just pure stupidity as they are given old gas.guzzer by parents..

Some high schoolers comments were , it looks like my frig.. etc.. or thumbs down..

Young kids of elemantary and middle school are so excited and always give smiles and waves ..

It is truly odd. My experience has been incredibly positive with most people totally loving the truck and endless videos and pictures with it.

I've seen over 90% positive reactions too. People are more blown away than I expected. And plenty of confused looks too. Many don't know what they are looking at or how to process it.

There have been a few questions and a few “appliance on wheels” comments. Even then the guy just smiled and really loved it after looking at.

These in-between types are still capable of thinking for themselves, but they have to make a conscious effort to do so. If they don't focus some mental energy on what they are thinking about, if they are mentally lazy, they will revert to being an automaton, a puppet of those trying to prevent change, thinking the way they have been told to think by others, by people that don't want to lose money, control and power. But they are capable of snapping themselves out of the trance and thinking for themselves.

However, I was driving down the highway and a guy driving his Mazda manufactured in Japan using oil from Saudi Arabia gave me a double bird with my wife in my truck facing him. Like you, I really don't give a flying f.... either way, but I can't even imagine what they are thinking. Is this a political thing; Biden vs Musk? I am not sure the person I saw would be that educated or thoughtful to understand what the real reason he was expressing his right to free speech about. It just seemed like a visceral response. Oh well, it had no bearing on my big smile as I was driving down the highway in my CT enjoying every second of it.

I find these people the least interesting. It's a visceral response reflecting their own underlying insecurities and hate. They feel like they have been left out in life, that the "system" has taken away their self-importance. Propaganda is most effective when underlying insecurities and hate already exist, historically effective propagandists harvest these insecurities to carry out their agenda and the same thing is still happening today. You can see throughout history how those who have wanted to shape public opinion to their own selfish means have harvested peoples insecurity to get people on board, to carry out their agenda. Hitler used the German people's shame of World War I and their fear of being ostracized, combined with nationalism and pride to generate support for WWII.

The funny thing is watching how confused these people get if you try to have a polite and respectful conversation with them. I can see a confusion welling up inside of them, many of them don't even know why they feel the way they do. It's like they have a mind virus inside that they don't understand themselves. It's actually pretty sad to see.

Since taking delivery of my Cybertruck, I've noticed some interesting reactions on the road. It seems my futuristic ride is stirring up some strong emotions, especially among the diesel truck crowd.

I can't count how many times big, jacked-up diesel trucks have deliberately cut me off, spewing noise and black smoke as if they're proud of their environmental impact. I'm not mad, though. I just don't see the point in behaving like that.

But what really caught me off guard was a slightly fat teenager who aggressively gestured a thumbs down at me as I drove by. It left me puzzled and a little saddened.

I get it - change can be scary, and the Cybertruck is a bold departure from the norm. But the outright hostility? That's something I wasn't quite prepared for.

How do you handle the haters?

I'm choosing to focus on the positives - the incredible performance, the cutting-edge tech, and the fact that I'm driving a vehicle that represents a step towards a new vehicle platform and a more sustainable future.

So, to the diesel truck drivers proudly rolling coal, and to the teens thumbing me down, I say this: I'm not here to engage in negativity. I'm just enjoying my Cybertruck and all it represents.

Teen agers around me are different.

They go gaga with my CT with words like, cool, insane... then ask for if they can take selfies.

Dudes riding on big diesel trucks, Corvette... not so pleasant. One driving his wife's soccer mom van even followed me into the parking to give me a double hand one-finger flip. I can only smile.

As to the dude on the truck who cut me off aggressively, I made him eat my electrons in a single burst through flooring the pedal.

They aren't haters, they are just jealous. Owning a new $50,000 vehicle is probably far outside of their dreams. The Cybertruck just flaunts it.

I had 2 teens flip me off. Ended up beside them at a light and kindly asked them to roll down their window and explain. One said he liked it and the other couldn’t articulate a sentence.

The thing that actually annoys me is the topic of money being brought up. Never happened when I drove a piece of shit

I took my 17 year old niece and some of her friends to the mall in my Lightning. They loved the frunk when I put all their bags in there. I said "my frunk is going to be a bit smaller soon when my CT gets here."

I didn't expect the negative reaction at this point, but they all basically told me I was awful for buying it. The only one who gave a reason was that it is incredibly unsafe with no crumple zone, any occupant gets severely hurt in a crash even if the truck looks fine. Then that's all they talked about, how unsafe the CT was, until I dropped them off at home.

When people say stuff like that I ask them to demonstrate what specific part of the truck is missing or has an inadequate crumple zone.

When you ask people to demonstrate their knowledge, they tend to change the subject quickly.

Well, I would say your daughters are lucky, and y'all have done a wonderful job... but- that said, I think a good majority of that generation is doomed.
