Adjusting arrival energy in the trip planner (newer feature) can do that if the truck isn't compensating enough for the trailer.Looking forward to this as I haul stuff too. Possibly getting a much larger trailer in the semi-near future too.
Do you know if there is a way to have a custom range? Meaning, say, the most I want to travel is 100-125 miles until recharging to verify you have enough battery for the next destination, but also that the entire route has charging options within that distance for the entire route.
I don't believe we are getting this. The above change is to start storing trailer configs by the type of trailer hooked up in order to get better range estimates.is this to allow FSD while towing? Because we need FSD on a long road trip towing campers, boats, atv trailers or race car trailers.
Dimensions (especially when lacking Cd) aren't really needed to make range estimates though. It would be much more accurate to just observe energy usage vs speed, temperature, and wind.I don't believe we are getting this. 100% agree on the FSD with a trailer, or at a minimum, auto fall back to auto-pilot or simple cruise when a trailer is installed.
Of course when it's no longer hooked up, should default back to FSD.
Agreed, but looking for a simple fall back worst case scenario option. Especially if I have to travel to a far off state to pick up up said much heavier trailer. Don't want to be stuck because chargers were to far apart (knowing that the range will suck ass --> technical term there).Dimensions (especially when lacking Cd) aren't really needed to make range estimates though. They are useful for FSD, if only to know how much camera image to ignore.
Oh, yeah using it to estimate a trailer you haven't used yet, that's a great thought!Agreed, but looking for a simple fall back worst case scenario option. An accurate weight will help. Tongue weight will not effect rangeWould providing trailer and/or tongue weight help with range estimates provided as part of the profile? I’m a n00b potential trailer user, LOL.
Trailer mass/weight is a field on that screen.Would providing trailer and/or tongue weight help with range estimates provided as part of the profile? I’m a n00b potential trailer user, LOL.
Force of drag is essentially Cd*A (cross-sectional area). So the width and height of the trailer makes a big difference, by increasing the cross-sectional area.Dimensions (especially when lacking Cd) aren't really needed to make range estimates though.
As far as I know SuperCruise is the only EV truck system that allows ADAS to work while towing. Various youtube videos and articles mention this unique EV truck feature.is this to allow FSD while towing?
