I just scheduled service for mine. I noticed that gap the first day but just thought that’s how they are supposed to be, until I came across this thread.

Does this look normal or should I request service on mine?
I would get that done. That’s supposed to be like a gutter and imagine a gutter with no screen, eventually it can fill up with debris and the water management holes with dirt.

My service center said they will fix it. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I thanked them excessively but I will believe it when I see it.
Has this been resolved

New slat ?
new aero cover ?
new foam sealing between glass and aero cover ?

if thats all been done please post the work done

I have a new SC ( just opened ) and they are already telling me only the slat needs to be replaced .

or anybody please help if you have had all three steps done with the details from the SC so i can show them . it will save me multiple trips to the SC .

much appreciated ...

You are going to have to bite, scratch, and claw to get them to do anything but add the new slat.

Yes they fixed it I posted the before and after. At first they complained it would take four people to remove it, I found that answer unnaceptable, provided the rework info and they corrected the issue. Just be sure they put new plastic trim pieces on the sides because they will snap and break them when they take them off, then they will fly away when it’s windy.

So first time driving the highway after getting my tonneau fixed and sure enough I got that issue you mentioned. Got a service scheduled and looking at the parts in the ticket, I deduced that they will be performing the retrofit for the whole Bed Sail Applique which I didn’t know there was one only after researching the part numbers. The old trims were still using double-sided tape in conjunction with anchors. The new ones from it looks like in the bulletin are all anchors, a lot more (17 plus, compared to the old 9x and 6x tape).

Appointment is not till next month so we’ll see. They will be replacing both left and right sides. And still “NO” on the foam seal on the roof applique though I already fixed that myself by adding marine grade epdm seal.

Correction code is 1220126006

I will post the link when I find it again (closed the browser by accident).

I wasnt under the impression that this fixed the bed leak .

my thoughts were as some had previously commented

1.new aero flap or applique (new modified version with rubber flap)
2. reseal with rubber seal / between window and applique
3. add extra slat to tonneau

if anyone has the detailed work order around this I can show the SC the details .

i dont really want to become the handyman in trying to fix this (I am useless at this kind of stuff )

No, this was the aftermath of them fixing the gap of the tonneau cover. As for the water leak from the applique from the top between the glass roof, not sure if anyone has gotten a new one or if that actually fixed the leak. As I mentioned in my post before, the issue is the seal used is not thick enough to seal the gap and SC’s answer is always the standard disclosure of “the vault is not meant to be waterproof.” So for now if you wanna stop the leak, you might have to do it yourself or have someone do it.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
They fixed mine. Looks like they added a slat and some sealant as well. No bar spotted through the window. Completely waterproof now. Just washed her with a pressure washer and no leaks!

Are you able to post the tesla work order for this. That would be very helpful.

Hey congrats!
Like others have mentioned, if you could post the work order for this so others can convince their SC that the vault should not have water pouring in it when it rains.
