Is the 80% recommended charge real?

I always charge by Cyberbeast to 80% because that is what I read online. I tried to find that recommendation in the owner's manual and could not find any reference stating this is actually recommended. I did read you should not allow the battery to get below 20% and if you are at a super charger, just charge to 80% so not to tie up the stall for someone else. If you have any documented Tesla information on this recommendation, I would love to know where it can be found.

Based upon 6 ½yrs with my Model 3, I think those recs are based upon utility. If you get below 20%, you have to be careful that you don't let the battery drain too low. But, you can certainly drive below 20%.

And, for daily driving you can charge to a lower level if you like. I charge to 60%, since that's what I do for my Model 3, and it works fine.

This is the easy answer. I typically keep it charged between 40-70% but I WFH and don't have very far to drive normally.

With that said, after 6 months and 12,000+ miles, with exclusive free supercharging (outside of 3 or 4 home charges), we’re still showing 100% batter health. This number does fluctuate by 0.5 at times. We consistently drop closer to 10-15% and generally charge to 60-68%. We’ve probably charged to 80% 6-8 times.

Tessie is only reporting the BMS data. The current theory is that the “degradation” is based on the advertised pack capacity, but each pack has some slight variance in what was delivered.

Looks like your tessie app is bugged or needs to be updated. That 0.00kwh under the circle graph should say 122.51kwh (assuming mine is correct at 122.51kwh which is basically what i have heard multiple sources quote as the pack size for the CT). Basically your tessie is dividing by 0 so it is showing 100%. Regardless, you are at less than 1% degradation, which is pretty good.

It's still a big deal when it takes more than 60% (80 to 20), 80%, or 100% to get to the next Supercharger...

I currently own 2 FS Cyberbeasts, one with free supercharging, and the first one for almost a year without free supercharging, I treat them like a cell phone, I supercharge on long trips up and down the east coast from Connecticut to Gainesville GA, I only supercharge only to 80% but when I leave for a long trip, I charge at home at 6-7 amps to 100% to get those extra few miles in.
slow charging works best for me. sitting at the supercharger, I just charge too what I need to make it to the next supercharger.
240 Volts at home 32 amps is plenty and I usually bring it way down to 6-7 amps to top off my batteries.
I'm installing power share soon, so that will definitely have an impact on how I currently charge. it's a learning curve, just as when you add solar to your home, you change your everyday habits to maximize efficiency.
