I think you are being deliberately misleading here. I asked Grok about this and he replied like any reasonable human with limited data would reply:I think we all need to file nhtsa especially those that had the issue. Grok says 40% of owners are having issues… https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem
No guarantee, but two at half power should be more efficient and less stressful thermally. If I reduce my charge current to 24A, does that mean I'm using a single module, or both modules at half-power?![]()
I believe the efficiency is highest when a device like this is utilized around 90% of it's design capacity (and efficiency typically doesn't drop much between 90% and 100%). That would imply one module is fully (or mostly) utilized before the other module is activated. I don't have any information to suggest which it actually is.If I reduce my charge current to 24A, does that mean I'm using a single module, or both modules at half-power?![]()
It would certainly run cooler with two at half power (more components to dissipate heat) but power electronics are designed to run at 100% of design capacity without thermal problems. No guarantee, but two at half power should be more efficient and less stressful thermally.
dude? a new 26 and $500 less? If you are not trading in right now I'm coming over there!Hi all,
I have a very early FS CT and have been loving it. With the ability to transfer the FSD to a new cybertuck, I'm very tempted to trade mine in for a new one. The trade in offer is higher than what I owe which is awesome (holding it's value really well). The main reason for wanting to update it to a new truck is to reset the trucks warranty while I still can transfer FSD and to get a truck with a newer PCS version (although these still can fail but the failure rate seems to be lower). My truck has 15000+ miles on it and I haven't had a PCS failure yet (I have had to deal with the various recalls and my inverter failed around 6k miles). I only have about 1.5 years left on the warranty that would cover the PCS failure, but mostly I don't like the idea of possibly being stranded because based on the various threads here it happens without warning and randomly. I absolutely love this truck and want to stick with it, but wondering what everyones thoughts are on trading a low VIN (700's) FS for a new 2026 model and transferring my FSD. Oh and not that this matters a bunch but my payment would also be $500 less a month.
Alternatively I'm eyeing a new model x which comes with the luxe package and is capable of towing our trailer (used to have a model x and it towed it fine). But I think giving up the CT would make me feel dead inside, so this option might not be feasible.
Feedback is appreciated!
I had asked grok the same thing prior to starting this thread and it also said 40% of people on this forum report the issue. It did disclose that this was based on the the forum polls and it didn't have enough data for overall numbers. But still....40% of people on there have the issue. Come on...I think you are being deliberately misleading here. I asked Grok about this and he replied like any reasonable human with limited data would reply:
Raw poll numbers overstate fleet-wide impact due to bias (classic forum effect—happy owners rarely chime in on “failure” polls). Pure public reports (~50–100 unique detailed cases) would imply <<1%, but that ignores the thousands of quiet warranty repairs Tesla service centers perform without owners posting online. 5–10% strikes the middle: noticeable enough for dedicated threads, warranty updates, and owner anxiety, but not a majority or recall-level crisis.
I should have looked at the URL first. Change.org :-( now they will sell my info to basically everyone.I hope everyone in this thread will go sign the petition. I ironically was an early signer and was following a similar thread to this before mine went out.
Yup, it definitely makes stuff up and anyone that thinks they are getting facts deserves what happens. We certainly deserved what happened to us when we believed it.People really need to stop taking what grok says as gospel. I use grok all the time but jfc it will tell you absurd lies and completely make things up.
Tesla Service has been generous with me on repairs but this thing really should be a recall.I think you are being deliberately misleading here. I asked Grok about this and he replied like any reasonable human with limited data would reply:

Well at least we all agreeefficiency is highest when a device like this is utilized around 90%
This site has almost 30,000 registered members. Hard to believe we’ve had more than 10,000 PCS complaints lolI had asked grok the same thing prior to starting this thread and it also said 40% of people on this forum report the issue.
Mine failed at 60k fwiw60k miles on my 2024 CT AWD. Haven't had an issue with this. Guess I'm beyond the mark![]()
