It is hardwired. We split the breakers up between non-backed up and backed up in the two 200a panels. The switch is automatic and is connected to just one of them.

It seems like that should be an approved setup, but it just felt like they have a script and if you don't fit the script they move on.

Yeah, your currently not backed up panel could have Powershare added. I'm guessing they didn't fully understand the setup.

Agreed. I didn't push it as I already was planning to put both panels on a larger switch and add shed devices to the wall chargers and one other user so I can handle the load.

Yes, any tesla wall charger is on their requirement list. The universal one just makes the connectors easy to swap. The standard one is also fine.

The $4k was there when we ordered. We went to a store to complete the purchase because this is our first Tesla.
The $4k was there at the time but I changed the interior to grey and I think that’s where we lost the credit. I seriously hope they make it right.

We also ordered when the up to $4k of install credit was part of the Beast Foundation package.

Hard to say if the order editing process reset the rest of the configuration. On other cars it does reset pricing, but Cybertruck is very much a unique situation. We've taken delivery so can't check what the app says now. Did they send a new "Install Powershare Home Backup" email with the updated package info?

The $2,500 for AWD and Beast represents the value of the Wall Connector and Gateway. If you qualify for Powershare installation, the installer uses your credit to purchase the itens. If you do not, you use the credit in a single (potentially multi-item) purchase from the Tesla shop.

The $4k installation credit for Beast is a separate thing which looks like it is no longer offered.

I proactively filled out the qmerit form for powershare. I got an email today from them stating that they now must wait for Tesla to give authorization for individuals before doing any work or quotes. The email states that "certain customers" I'm assuming beast owners, will get an installation credit.

Also received an email from Qmerit and spoke to them on the phone. For legacy Beast orders, they are waiting on Tesla to give them a list of people eligible to receive the installation credit. There is nothing they can do until then to move the process forward. My rep spoke to the Program Supervisor within Qmerit who said the same thing.

For new/recent orders, where there was no mention of the credit at checkout, it might be safe to assume the credit no longer exists.


How do I receive installation credit?
Certain customers may be eligible for a Powershare Installation credit, provided by Tesla.

1. To receive the installation credit, Tesla must provide an authorization to Qmerit.
2. Currently, Qmerit is awaiting Tesla’s authorization of customers who are eligible for the installation credit.
3. As soon as Tesla verifies authorization to Qmerit, you’ll receive an email from Qmerit with next steps to proceed.
