11) You could have Fed 1,000 homeless families with the money you recklessly spent!
Don't get me started, in Denver we have a homeless crisis going on but everybody wants to do things to feel good about themselves rather than actually make a difference. I tried to give some suggestions and I got roundly shot down and people got mad at me for my ideas. One suggestion was to put the immigrants to work in some fashion that would benefit our society and benefit them but for some reason this was an idea that runs contrary to the concept of charity, where people want to give things for free but then nobody wants to approve socialize healthcare which is for our own society. I don't understand this concepts of charity that happens to run in only one direction.

I think we have several threads about public reactions to the Cybertruck. Thumbs up, thumbs down, the one finger flip off - all directed toward the CT and driver. I have tried to compile the top ten reasons for the negative reactions. What did I miss?

(My advice is enjoy :giggle: the attention, relish the ride and send back love)

Top 10 Reasons for the hate:

1) They are jealous that you actually OWN one

2) It is simply too ugly to be on the road, its very sight is personally offensive

3) They hate on ELON for what he has done, (doesn't matter-whatever, whoever, whenever and forever)

4) It is not green enough, or it is too green

5) All EV drivers = Liberals

6) Conspicuous $$$ consumption, another rich Ferrari driver, use your money more responsibly, you rich Bastard

7) You are driving too slow in the fast lane, (and yes, there is a SPECIAL HELL for these people!)

8) They actually know a Cybertruck owner, and assume all owners are like that guy.

9) You cut them off two miles back, or another Cybertruck did two weeks ago… they all look alike.

10) It is NOT even about the Cybertruck at all, it IS directed at YOU
SAD!

You should hang a couple of stray wires and tape some random object to complete the look ?
The most interesting feedback I have got is,

Damn brother, did you build that yourself?

Is that a toy?

Are you for real?

What is that, a spaceship?

People working in the oil/gas industry feeling their job security is threatened (the entire state of Wyoming).
I live in Cheyenne and am wondering how that's going to express itself here when we get our Beast.

Our community had a classic Cars and Coffee (car show). I decided to drive the truck 2 blocks and check it out hoping I could snag a donut. I parked next to the 15 classic cars lined up. I was welcomed in by the sponsor who was excited and told me everyone wants to see the truck. Everyone turned and stared. At least 30 people came over to see the truck. Some asked a lot of questions. I met a lot of neighbors. Other residents who had no desire to see the cars stopped to look because of the truck. I didn't win the show vote. But many people were educated by me. Some didn't know it was a truck, I'm not sure what they thought it was. One neighbor said she saw a CT at the car wash and asked somebody there "what is that" they told her its a $250k Tesla truck. She asked me did you pay $250k? I said no, they start at $60k and left it at that.

Last weekend I pulled into the front parking space at busy plant nursery with my wife in passenger seat. Two women and one man all in their 40s were standing 10ft away. I exited the truck and waited for my wife to exit. One of the women stood at the passenger side to pose for a picture standing at passenger side of the truck. My wife waited for the pic before she exited the truck. The man with his face in his hands said "Elon is a fascists" the 2 women had no comment to him. I wanted to ask the guy "define fascist" I didn't. I read the 2023 biography "Elon Musk" its a fascinating read. There is a chapter about the CT you guys will eat it up.
Before Elon bought Twitter he voted Blue and most people voting Red didn't like him. After he switched to Red many of the Blue voters now hate him. Its too bad this is how it is now. I blame social media for much of these reactions today because I believe SM is full of fake news and gives people the belief their opinion matters and they need to express it every chance they get.
The reality is many people need a check up from the neck up.

Enjoy your badass trucks everybody they are for now and until someone dares to make something better the most impressive technological marvel on the planet.

Just leave out the part about the phantom drain! I have two peeves with the truck in total. One is that it definitely uses energy while just sitting in my driveway doing absolutely nothing. I get much better cost per mile than my old truck while driving, but my old truck didn’t leak gas essentially while it was sitting there.

My other is the phone chargers that boil my iPhone and don’t charge it.
These are my two issues as well. I really hope the phantom drain gets fixed at some point. the phone thing... not sure that is an easy fix except to not use it. it needs fans/venting it gets seriously hot.

CT brings joy to everyone. Some express it strangely with CT is #1 salute. I don't care. Hope it makes them happy!

I got the "did you build that" question too. :ROFLMAO:

Also a lot of people who don't realize it is a truck until the tonneau cover is open.

I have been testing the phantom drain. I turned off the A/C and the cabin overheat. I also went into the website to my profile and deleted Tessie and other app access.

I have also turned off the power outlets. So far, it's slowed down a lot so that I'm not so unhappy about it.

Most older folks (60+) have no idea what it is. I was in the pro shop at the public golf course renewing my annual membership and this guy who must have been 80 came in asking the manager about the tank with no door handles parked in the lot. Not wanting to assume, I asked him some questions about what he saw and then told him it was Tesla's new pickup truck. He was impressed, awestruck and stunned all at once. He knew of Tesla, but had no idea about the Cybertruck.

Also had a 60+ woman pull next to me at a light asking to roll my window down. She also knew about Tesla but had no idea about the Cybertruck. Said it was cool.

Other side is I had a 20-something guy taking pictures from across a traffic light, he got the walk signal and when we made eye contact he gave me a thumbs down. I just laughed. He literally just took pictures a few seconds earlier. Some people are just clowning.

This is true. And when I open it, they impressed at how big it is.
