Created this thread to talk about the interior lighting system. This forum feels like a direct line to the cybertruck team and bypasses the service team. Thank you guys for actively monitoring this forum. This forum is worthy to be on downdetector. Great job guys for listening to our concerns.

Footwell lights toggle button, for my truck doesnt do anything.

I know the ambient light on the front dash can be turned off. There are times I am sitting in the truck, for example like a person casing a home at night. I really dont want any lights on in the cabin when I am parked. Even the low glow in the dome lights, is there a way to have that completely off?

Okay, if the car is in a locked state the dome lights go off. I should restate that when going into park mode (unlocked state) I would like the option to not turn on the dome lights when “dome lights” = “off” thanks dont want to blow my cover. Also the footwell when toggled off that they do not turn on in parked mode and unlocked state.

Software version: v12 (2024.20.9)

There’s nobody from Tesla monitoring or commenting in this forum that we’re aware of.

Just tell Tesla you’d like an “OJ Mode” where your CT would geofence certain locations and times to stay in stealth mode. Like outside of your ex’s house after dinner time. /jk

It is stupid for Tesla not to harvest information out in the wild on a contained forum that focus on cybertrucks from people QC’ing (yay foundation series) and getting these bugs ironed out.

Are you really trying to go undercover in one of the most attention grabbing vehicles on the market right now? And why wouldn't you just tint your windows?
No of course not, we do have to have some fun at times. ?? I do have my window tinted. I still would like no lights on my cabin feature.

hahahah
Tesla: I would like to have an “OJ Mode” (like Joe mode lol) when I am casing my ex-wife’s house eating dinner. I like the idea of having a saved locations feature too. Thanks.

It took me a bit to find the change when turning on/off the footwell lights. It is just a very tiny dim light that barely lights up the center footwell area in the front seat area (in front of the center console). I was expecting like the footwells to be lit up in the driver and passenger side...nope.

The manual indicated footwells are all lit up.
  • Footwell Lights: When headlights are enabled, footwell lights illuminate the front and rear footwells. Footwell lights will also enable when you unlock your vehicle, open a door upon entry/exit, or shift into Park.

Tesla should have automatic dome lights! they can know when it gets dark throughout the year, seems really simple actually!

Sometimes the lights are too bright; like when camping or stargazing or your eyes are already adjusted to the dark. You don't want your lights to blind others outside your car, either. And OMG Tesla lights are super bad against night vision x-x

'casing a joint' seems pretty uncommon as an activity, but I have this same trouble with my Mazda 3: There's no way to even keep the interior lights in 'night mode' if the headlights or brights aren't on - parking lights don't count like on my old Civic or Nova.

The dome lights can be set to automatic. Are you saying you want the dome lights to automatically turn on when you are driving?

I'm saying they should turn on at night, and turn off in the day.

I don't want them on when I'm in the vehicle at night. Dome lights generally only come on when the doors are open are manually turned on. They are not intended to be used while driving.
