Why shouldn't I Cancel My CT order and purchase the Chevy EV?

Your points are noted, and I agree with you. My point about DC Fast charging is the availability of reliable 350kwh is slim today compared to the wide availability of 250kwh Superchargers. But my main point was the time it would take to charge up that 200kwh+ massive battery using an LVL2 charger in your garage vs the 123kwh battery the CT uses.

For some, the 400+ miles of range or 200+ of towing makes it an easy decision, but for the majority of truck owners, the smaller, faster-charging battery the CT has is a clear choice.

I had mine for less than a week and traded it in. The software is horrendous on all of these legacy automakers. I've owned the Lightning, Hummer EV, and most recently the Silverado EV. I thought I would be able to look past the clunky early 2000s software but after experiencing several Tesla's, it's impossible to go back.

Just noticing little things like the CONSTANT annoying hum when the car is on and even just siting still in drive. People say this can be fixed with a software update but "can" is different from "will". That sound alone was a dealbreaker to take a bath in it and trade it in. I hope this info can save someone thousands because I didn't read about that anywhere online or see it in the several YouTube videos I watched on the Silverado. It is absolutely nails on a chalkboard can't-tune-it-out sound.

There's also the fact that you can't adjust the amperage up and down while charging the Silverado. For most city dwellers this probably is a moot point but for people that road trip or rural people like myself, it is annoying to have to lug around another mobile charger that has built in ability to lower the amperage.

From all the many EV vehicles I've driven, Rivian is the only competitor currently to Tesla.

The Chevy is much more inefficient when it comes to battery usage. You will pay more to charge it and go a mile. Not my cup of tea.

Now discount and tax credit bring them down to $68,800. 200kw battery with over 400mile tested range and 10k tow. Zero to Sixty in 5.5 sec. larger front storage. Spare tire. Center dash display. 4WD Full Independent suspension on Eight lug rims and floating axles.

Downside -No four wheel steering by wire, Stainless, FSD, Cast unibody frame or adjustable air suspension.

I am a day one reserve and sick of waiting nearly five years while the guy down the street was dumb enough to cough up and extra 20k to jump ahead in line.

What am I missing?

Bc it's a Chevy, and the people and robots building it probably took 435 Union mandated breaks while building it.

Go drive it, if you like it and it makes sense for you (home charging, little to no SC need) then I don't see how it wouldn't make sense. It has a massive amount of range and came in 1st in the "Out of Spec Race Motoring" Ocean to Ocean Race (FL to CA). Cybertruck came in 2nd btw.

The E3WT, 180kWh, Dual Motor, almost 400 miles range or so.

As someone who has driven almost 13K miles in my CT since 1 Feb 24. I flew into Denver last night and the Mustang Mach-E that was reserved wasn’t available so they upgraded me to the new Silverado E. I hate this thing. The only thing that seems better than the CT is legroom/space in the back seat. The handling, ride, software, charging, visibility, air conditioning all suck compared to my CT. It’s jerky and rough to slowdown, stop, and accelerate. The added weight of the battery pack on a Silverado frame makes me feel like I’m towing something. It honestly feels unsafe on the hwy. This is the first non-Tesla electric car/truck I’ve ever driven. I have never been more sure I’ve made the right decision owning Tesla.

Thanks for sharing those points. I had no idea the Chevy charger doesn't allow for amperage adjustment - that's a feature I use every day. Probably not a big deal to most folks, but something that would sway my decision, for sure.

Honestly, you're not wrong at all! Though, I do want to throw in one big negative:
Eventually you'll be able to charge at superchargers for a small premium fee. But for now, I don't believe you can charge that on the Tesla network and that alone is the biggest downside imo.

I also don't understand why legacy auto doesn't put effort into the design of their ev trucks... it's such a sad state of things imo. ANY OTHER ICE truck with specs like that one would be design to look super dope to match it's performance, but nope. Though, if you're like me and don't really care about looks and are focused on the ratio of what it can do vs cost, then I don't see why you shouldn't go for it.

While the lack-of-Supercharger negative will be mitigated in the near future, it won't go away completely. Non-Tesla EVs won't have access to the entire Supercharger network until all V1 and V2 Superchargers get upgraded to V3 or above. With as big a battery as the Silverado EV has, you probably wouldn't want those lower charging speeds anyway, but it still limits the availability of DC fast chargers.

This is also what I'm hearing from big names on youtube about the Silverado. I loved my old Silverado and I have a lot of love for Chevy/GM, but it's hard to want to buy their EVs (truck or otherwise) when it's just so painful to get them charged in a reasonable time. And it's really no fault of the truck itself! Just very spotty charging networks; they're everywhere, but they rarely work well and often not at all--no support either.

if you going to tow and you need to range then get the Chevy. if you want a 3 in 1 truck get the Cyber truck daily driver truck that drives like a car. a full secure truck bed when you need it and a off road best when you want it two. you should do a test drive of both . i know electrify expo this weekend will have cyber truck test drives.
