Plugged in my CT for a top off before a trip later today and it won't start charging or pre-condition for a charge. Temp is mid-40's, have the blue snow flake, currently have 65%, set slider to 85%, tried to start charging a few times and then get error message saying "can't charge, un-plug and retry".

Questions:

1. If I leave it plugged in, will it pre-condition and charge when the batteries are ready to be charged.
2. I tried to set a schedule for pre-condition, but I don't see any indication that it is in fact pre-conditionioning.
3. Best practices- what should I do in the future to make sure my CT is ready to charge when I want it to.
4. I have enough charge to make it to my other Level 2 charger in another city for the trip today. Since, I am not going to a Supercharger will I have a pre-conditioning issue when I arrive at my other charger.

Thanks

Has this charge connector worked before?
Bigger concern is if the issue is the truck, in which case the other charge connector might not work either.
Could try a double scroll wheel reset.

1. Likely no based on errors you are getting.
3. Do you mean able to charge? Or finished charging?
4. No, preconditioning is mostly about Supercharging speed. Just driving will help warm the pack.

Mongo,

3. It won't start charging and this charger has worked fine previously.

Check the plug of the charger, and the receptacle on your truck for obstructions.

Some charge cables get broken without it being readily apparent.

Have you checked the service menu for anything unusual? (ie. something in yellow or a triangle or something).
Also there is normally a more detailed service log that shows up there.

How to get in: https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...UID-ED5F50E2-B262-4837-991E-08D9DA60A801.html

I showed many screens here:

Here' the fix for the problem:

Talked with Tesla tech support:

Step 1: Do a re-boot by doing a press & hold on both toggle wheels on the steering. If that doesn't solve it, go to Step 2.

Step 2: Go to the "Safety" tab on the screen and scroll down to "Power Off' and press that. Wait 2 mins. I did that and everything is fine now.

Thanks for the previous responses from everyone.

Good reminder. Also detailed in the owners manual:

Yah, if the double scroll reset didn't help (post #2), I'd have mentioned Power Down.
