So, I live in an area where we had a prolonged power outage. On Christmas eve black out started at 2pm and went on till almost 10pm.

This year the family Christmas get together was here at my place. Guest began to show up around 3pm. By then I had already run an extension cord out to the Cyberbeast and was powering my computer wifi a vacuum and some lights.

I opted not to get the Powershare box thinking Nah when was the last time we had a blackout. It would have come in handy yesterday. But even without Powershare the Cyberbeast came through like a champ.

My brother-in-law shows up with lumber, wood under his arm. He says hey i need to make this platform thing for a game were going to play and I say my tools are in the truck go ahead and do what you have to do. He used my table saw, chop saw, and drill gun charger powered from the Cyberbeast. And I had the refrigerator, and a blender also connected at one point.

The Cyberbeast was plugged into the charger when the black out hit. I had computers and TVs get burned out by blackouts in the past. But I haven't noticed any damage to anything yet. anyway,

The truck was almost fully charged when the black out hit (80%) or around 250 miles this morning it still has a little over 200miles range left.

Rudoph the red nose Cyberbeast had a little power outage to fix. hohoho!

Great to hear of an actual Cybertruck power supply in action!

Curious about what all your were powering and how as have been thinking thru this. Did you just run extension cords from the 120v outlets or do anything else like run NEMA 14-50 to a generator power inlet [box] power. That plus a interlock.

No, I did not run power into my house electrical with an extension cord that would be stupid dangerous and probably blow some fuses if the power comes back on and your connected that way without cutting off the main supply. most likely melt the cord if you pull too many amps through it. Nah all we did was connect whatever we were using to the end of the cord. and not everything that I mentioned was connected at the same time. It's funny how a lot of people see electrical systems like an enigma or mysterious evil power not to be tampered with. And that's probably a good thing for them. For me I understand how it all works no mystery no danger! I took electrical engineering classes at Rockwell International it was in Downey Cali. but it's not there anymore the place is now Paramount pictures studios, and I have done complete panel installations with meter and service entrence. I know what I'm doing. I work in new home constructions all the time. my profession is custom kitchen cabinets, and it sometimes requires electrical work.

Well I pointed out a perfectly common and safe generator setup and not a hack like you implied. Geez.

Seemed odd you could do a holiday party with an 120v extension to a fridge and lamp.

Just adding on to OP experience - I ran two fridges and an electric cooktop for a day like this in August. With no AC in the house the fridges were on quite a bit. If I remember right, used about 10% power but had sentry on as well. I had to first use the truck to power the garage door so I could put the truck outside too.

Like I said guys, I didn't run everything at the same time, we used the power tools after I was done with the vacuum. then the fridge was the only thing connected and when we used the blender, we disconnected the fridge to use the same cord and back to the fridge after. The fridge was connected most of the time. We had a Makita cordless work light on a stand after the party got rolling. blue tooth music. You know I'm not one of those guys that takes pictures of everything. so I didn't take any. my brother takes pics of his dinner plates all the time and I ask him Do you ever go back and look at them. why? what's the purpose? what do you do with them are you running a cuisine magazine or what? he had no answer. its not like you show up to work and show your coworkers Hay look what I had for dinner last night oooh. I just think its silly.

This is how we have ours set up to, with a generator plug. Before I got this installed, we were able to run extension cords to power fans, the fridge, freezer, water pumps, tv, and internet. This was all on the 110v, but I can't wait to use the inverter and plug in the 220v next time. It will be much cleaner without all the cords running around.

I also worked at Rockwell in Downey. It was a very special place! The friends I made there are still close.

This is a safe setup for the generator connection with a physical interlock to prevent problems if normal power is restored. Thanks for pointing this out.

I never worked there I only went for the classes. But it was a very special place. I remember asking for the hall pass to go to the restroom and getting lost ending up in an unauthorized part of the building where i saw some space Shuttle parts or rocket engine parts. I found my way back and no one knew where I had been. no security came running out to escort me, but we all had name badges and had to pass a screening background check.

I can second that, I have exactly this setup and it was very useful to run my house during both of the Hurricanes we had this year.
