Oh man that might make me go start using my switch again. Is it part of the advanced online subscription, the regular online subscription or a separate individual game purchase?

Multiplayer FTW! I gotta brush up on where all the respawn points are on each level so I can just respawn camp.
You have to subscribe to the $50 a year Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier to play. I tried it this morning and while very nostalgic the controls will take me a bit of time to get used to. They’re different then what we’ve grown accustomed to in more modern FPS and there is no custom button mapping.

Yeah I guess i'll not get to play. the expansion pack subscription is not worth it to me, for one game, and only playing it a couple times a year. Would rather just buy that one game outright.

One other thing to add, paraphrasing Elon when he was asked who he sees coming 'Second' from behind in the EV / FSD Space, l'm gonna get me a 'TESLASCOPE'
They found a telescope capable of spotting the competition. Ironically launched by ESA and not SpaceX so Musk doesn’t get any free time on it.

I know why you think that, and why you’re confident in it

But there will be a quad motor. This vehicle is more targeted toward off road adventures, not towing 55k lbs.
Have you talked to any Cybertruck powertrain engineers at the Austin plant?

No, this is based on my own personal thoughts. I’ve definitely thought about it a lot of how would they do that…

I believe to accomplish the independent wheel control, independent wheel torque…

They need four motors

Are you opposed to four motors? Arguably, that would actually create more regen as well. So more efficient in a way.

There is no quad motor.
The top trim will be a tri-motor, just like the semi, making 1500 HP with two carbon sleeved 600hp motors in the rear and a 300hp legacy motor in the front with a dif.

You have a better source than this?

I def think this is a SOLID source USUALLY except LATELY. The semi was supposed to be quad, but it's tri. But that WORKS for Semi so I get why people think "tri is still happening".

It's not.

Reasons he laid out in the tweet are what I was saying above. But, i think dual will be first off the line. Cell constraints, it'll be lower range, but will require fewer cells to go so far, 2 motors is arguably more efficient. But quad will get stupid regen... IDK.

Will know more soon, sounds like!

I can't say.

But willing to put money on it that the top trim will be 2 carbon wrapped motors making 600hp each for the rear and a legacy 300hp motor for the front making 1500hp will be the top trim.

Two motors up front aren't needed, they actually hurt efficiency.
The dual motors in the rear, however, are useful for power.

I cannot confirm how I know this, but willing to bet that the top HP configuration at the time of launch, will be a tri-motor making 1500hp with the layout I have explained.

Will they ever launch a quad motor? Maybe, but I doubt it as it just isn't needed.
I can't confirm how I know that the tradeoffs weren't worthwhile as they achieved 1500hp with 3 motors in a reliable and efficient format.

I can't confirm how I know it will be tri-motor, but I can tell you from what I've seen there isn't as much room in the front as people think. This truck will weigh 7K lbs unladen, regen isn't an issue.

Say "I can't confirm" one more time Jack Bauer ;) Things are weird up in Area 51 I guess.

Hey, if its 3.. Sweet. Don't know how they will do independent torque each wheel. It'll be interesting to see Tesla go head to head with an R1t quad motor DT.

COGS will be less if it's 3 versus 4 I'd imagine.

And that weight... You're very very wrong.
That's more than a Lightning Extended Range. And an R1T. I'd imagine the vehicle weighs less than 6000lbs.

But again if you're right, sweet. 100% write off for me that year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Volume production could be a little dubious without any indications on run rate so I expect lots and lots of trucks per week to perhaps be closer to if not in 2025. Id love someone to ask if they anticipate all variants to qualify for the tax credit
There is absolutely no way it'll take Tesla 2 years to ramp up production, especially coming off doing that ramp up process with so many factories. The Cybertruck, while looking wild and having those folded instead of stamped body panels, is NOT much different than any other vehicle.

Full, 5,000 a week production by next February.

I don't think that's crazy, 5000 a week but probably more like April or May.

They're arguably still ramping S/X even if 5k a week is the anticipated volume production run rate.

This is where I agree a lot with you, WHAT means "volume production??"
