Automotive knowledge of a gnat
I mean. He only bet like 25 I think. (By the end of the year)

So he was closer than most

Also, idk if he ever claimed to be an automotive guy.

He's a tech guy. Who also likes cars lol

Yeah, 10 CT at the event. There is a possibility remote delivery as well. So, I think there would be more in total delivered. Why would people expect Tesla to deliver 1000 CT at the event, doesn't even make sense.

I guessed 12 deliveries on 11/30.

2024 should be an exciting year for “normal” Cybertruck reservation holders.

It wont be long before we see numerous vehicle transporters loaded up with brand new CT’s and leaving the Austin assembly plant on a daily basis.

Ten Cybertrucks! That is embarrassing!
The whole damned parking lot should be full of Cybertrucks, lights on, and then self drive around the event like a corral parade dammit! I was expecting so much more from Elon 🙄

I agree. The number would likely be a token amount in the ceremony just to kick off the start of deliveries.

For anyone who knows, is that the approach for other new models?

what doesn't make sense is why would people expect Tesla to deliver 1000 trucks on a delivery event day

they've never delivered more than 30

they've never delivered one of those remotely (they've all been at the event)

and they've never delivered one to a person that isn't an employee or otherwise not an VIP who is not receiving a true saleable production unit

production of saleable retail units has not begun. and, the beginning of production saleable retail units can trigger all kinds of regulatory and financial reporting consequences, that Tesla may be looking to avoid in Q4 of 2023.

people thinking otherwise have been mislead by people who aren't sure of what they're talking about using words like "production" and "customers" like they can just make up the meaning of those terms however they see fit.

meanwhile and speaking of, I'm *pretty confident* that Javier misspoke or doesn't quite know what he's talking about in this exact instance, regarding the number of units to be at the delivery event

regardless, it's silly for anyone to expect this delivery event to involve large numbers of production units going to retail customers

They can't deliver much more than that I guess since the team isn't set up for that and it would be a logistical nightmare. People need at least a week's notice before making a large purchase like that.

They don't typically hand over a ton of cars at these events, but this is less then I expected.

he's an event planner
MKBHD? He is a tech youtuber.

I am not sure why some people in this thread throw hate towards him though, he doesn't do a lot of the negative things we sometimes associate with influencer types. He doesn't get too involved in rumors.

He mostly does tech reviews, car impressions, and interviews.
