Only the Universal Wall Connector has the double lugs for pass through
This install was before Tesla started selling the universal charger in 2023 (I found the order and it was actually 4 years ago - Sept 2021). However, the older units do support daisy-chaining and, IIRC, showed the connection as it is in the photo in the installation instructions. I guess the double terminal blocks were added when they came out with the "universal" charger later. None-the-less. I think I will reduce the max current anyway and reduce the breaker to 50A. I have never been in a position where I was waiting for it to finish charging so don't really need 48A.

Which version is that? Looks like Gen 3 and it's installation manual does not call out pass-through nor are the terminals sized for double 4 AWG.

Argh. Spent all morning fighting their app. I am completely locked out and cannot reduce the max charge. The only way I am able to limit the charge current is in both vehicles to half which means if only one car is connected I still only charge at half rate. Looks like I can upload an old (pre-One App) firmware via the service page if I can find an image somewhere but Tesla does not provide it. Anyone know of a repo with old versions?

App? The Gen 3 manual says to log into the WC's wifi. It shows up if you power cycle or hold the connector button for 5 seconds.

Yeah that is how it used to work. No more. Now it just direct you to "Download One App to continue" There is no way to configure it without a Tesla Partner account and the One App. If I could find an image of the original firmware, I'd be able to configure it per the manual but they locked everyone out with a subsequent firmware update.

Gotcha, I was able to log into Tesla One to set up my UWC pre-Powershare install when my MC died.

So, you have
@TickTock
Just confirmed I am able to log into One as an external partner. The "more" option then leads to device configuration .
How did you get "external partner" status?

Aluminum clearly does meet code in some states. We built a new home in MD last year. The builder included an EV charger outlet (1450) as an option, which we selected. Upon adding a second WC, solar panels, and Powerwall, we discovered that the electrician had used #6 aluminum romex wire for the first wall charger. We left it in place and added another breaker, conduit and #4 copper to a new box for the first WC to mount next to the existing 1450 outlet that retains the aluminum wiring. Expensive to do, but provides the benefit of full 48 amp support at both of the Tesla WCs and allows the 1450 outlet to provide easy charging of non-Tesla EVs or to run 240v tools.
I did the same. I specifically asked them to wire it with #6 THHN so I could use it for hardwiring later (they wouldn't prewire without an outlet), but naturally they used romex instead...

Tom Malogehney sp? of youtube State of Charge channel deals with this very issue. He may be willing to come to your house with qualified electrician to investigate. Check him out.
