I've been keeping hope for some incentive for reservation holders (I'm a sub 30 second reservation holder). The "foundation series" wasn't the incentive I was looking for. At this point is there any reason to keep the $100 tied up with them? Now that anyone can buy it seems there is no reason. But before hitting the refund or cancel button just want to see what the crowd says.

I kept my second Reveal Day res "just in case" my FS AWD (05/2024 delivery) was involved in an accident where it was totaled, so I could get a FS replacement quickly.

Now that FS is over and reservations are opened to everyone, I guess it's time to get my $100 back, haha!!

What a wild and awesome experience this has been!!

Incentive? I don't understand.
Not sure what else to call it but loaning Tesla $100 for 5 years, although a trivial amount, should result in something more than an invitation to buy at $60,000 more.

I suspect a lot of folks will forget to request their deposit back. Good for shareholders! Maybe that's the incentive.

The reservation locks in FSD price. You could use the reservation for a single motor variant that will come out later at some point. Possibly FSD will cost more by then ??‍♂
Thanks. Since I'm not interested in FSD that doesn't factor in for me.

When I saw the Cybertruck unveiling and they said stainless steel exterior and 500 mile range I was sold. I already knew that Teslas are great so the software and hardware were going to be top notch. The functionality of the car was the incentive for me to put in a reservation. It doesn't work the other way. You see something you want/need and you put a deposit down. Tesla doesn't owe us (and by that I mean you) anything beyond over delivering on the vehicle they unveiled (I didn't get a 500 mile range, but at the time I was interested in the tri-motor and they did deliver on the dual motor specs that I did order). That is why I am confused. If you need to have some perk for putting a deposit down on the vehicle then I'd say that you should have pulled out before putting in.

I don't need to have a perk. I was simply asking if anyone knows of a reason to keep a reservation after recent developments. So far the only reason I heard is for a lower FSD price which may be of interest to some.

Keeping my extra 2020 res, refunded my November 2023 for $250. Planning on keeping my Beast for a long tme though and just buying new vehicles on top of it. I doubt I'll need my old reservations.

Im keeping my reservation because the fsd is $7000. But I’m not ordering yet because of the tax credit uncertainty.

if the CT qualifies, I would think making the POS credit available for all new orders could make demand too high relative to supply and risk taking orders that won’t be delivered until after some date when the tax credit could no longer be available, depending on the election, etc.
in that case, it’s possible they let only old reservations get the POS credit. Just my 2c.

If the $1000 FSD is not a significant value for you and you no longer see the benefits, then a refund is a logical step. A deposit is a great thing, you need to know how to work with it. I just read about bonuses and deposits in games here yesterday. Also a great option in my opinion. The main thing is to carefully read the terms and understand what the deposit offers. Then there will be no doubts about what to do with it.
Either way, your $100 is working for you rather than sitting idle. All I can say is that Tesla is unlikely to offer anything extra to reservation holders given their business model and demand.

This is a late reply but I hope it's not too late. My sister sent me a referral code that wouldn't work with my previous reservation made in 2022. So, I canceled that reservation and made a new one with the code and saved $2,000. My Cybertruck arrives next week!
