I have actually been able to contact Tesla (miracle of miracles) and they indicate it awaits a firmware update from their end. Not a screwed up installation. Now, if maybe somehow they didn't know you have solar, somehow you got the "enable button" added to your CT. The CT has to positively enable Powershare (you wouldn't want your truck unknowingly donating its battery energy to some charger without your say so).
That makes more sense to me.

Normally, while the Cybertruck is not plugged in, my 6 kw of solar panels provide most of the house’s power needs (a lot of sun in the south). Because I don’t have a powerwall, if the grid goes down my solar panels do not provide power to the house. This is a safety measure to ensure that the solar panels don’t back feed into the grid (to protect power line workers)
Since the Cybertruck acts just like a big powerwall it was supposed to enable solar to continue providing power in the event of a grid failure. This would effectively extend the backup power avaialable from the Cybertruck.
You need an automatic disconnect device like a backup gateway that can isolate your house from the grid when it is down.

I have an update. I recently had my PowerShare installed, and the electricians had to disconnect my solar from the PS to get it to activate, long process. But I had been waiting for it to be enabled for about 2 weeks now.
I sent out an email asking why it hasn’t been enabled when I had my solar disconnected during the install. After a few back-and-forths, they said “they are projecting that the firmware will be ready this week, once that happens they will enable the powershare for you.”

So it is coming soon.

I won’t get my hopes up too high but I am very ready to see that firmware get pushed out. There have been a few times having that available would have reduced some stress in the house.

I did get an update for my PowerShare last night. It was 24.44.2, which seems to be the newest version according to my Google search. No mention of Solar (or any release notes at all). And I don't have my PowerShare enabled to test anything. I would expect the version to be a 25.#.#, but it's possible it's been out since then, and just been testing it since then.

Sure, but that's 40A (9.6kW) vs 48A(11.5kW) and needs to be toggled every 12 hours.
It's also not up to code without an interlock between the grid connection and the generator backfeed.
Agrred. They make interlock plates that can be installed. But the Generator breaker must be right next to the main in the panel. With the right plate, you can't engage the generator's breaker without first killing the main. Hire an electrician, to make sure it's done correctly.

In my case the company that Tesla had install the wall connector and gateway did the work to put the generator transfer switch directly downstream of the gateway, and they shared their engineering drawings with the county before doing the work (not that the county looked at them, but it added an air on authenticity).

Just went to the Tesla app and it had the tutorial for PowerShare and then it was active.

Same here. I was able to activate it this morning. The gateway firmware version is unchanged at version 24.44.2.

Have you tested it to see if it will power your house? I tried but the truck did not go into PowerShare mode. I tested opening my main panel breaker and after waiting a few min no change.

I just wandered all over my Tesla app [iphone] and didn't see anything new. Where did you find this tutorial on PowerShare? Can you please be more detailed because I do not recall ever seeing tutorials on my Tesla app. Thanks for any pointers. This whole Powershare business has been a very frustrating experience.
