Except range is 110 miles so you would need Impossiiblium to get around.
Not sure where one is getting that from. This is more like a farm truck, or a 4th car. One doesn't try to use as a daily driver unless it's on the ranch.

I feel for you and I am in the same boat with my 2023 Lightning and 2022 MY. We purchased in the strangest car market I have seen in my 64 years. No cars on lots, people with money and willing to pay through the nose because resales were netting more then people had paid for them.

I made buying decisions on both those vehicles knowing I was buying at the top of the market. I had hoped when the CT was ready my Lightning would still be a high demand hard to find vehicle. I took a chance and hit the market wrong. Not Ford or Tesla's fault.

I would recommend trying Carmax. They are starting to buy now for tax season. They give inflated prices in Jan/Feb to build inventory ahead of tax season.

I hope they make a much better offer.
Thanks. I will try that and yeah I was confident in good resell prices because of the market at the time. Terrible luck for both of us. I do love my Model Y and I have a whole bunch of saved cash now. I guess I will do more traveling, haha. But not in a Cybertruck.

The range is actually taken from their commercial framed B4/B5 (110 to 200 miles) which seems to have the same aerodynamic deficiencies. Also interesting they are saying "you might get crappy mileage and you might cut that crappy mileage in half."

I keep a spare charge cable, an appropriately rated "extension cord" and every adapter known to man in the frunk. But I've found in a pinch, just renting a spot at any RV park and camping in the back is a great way to get around rough areas. RV parks are everywhere. I use RV Parky app to find them (can filter by 50amp).
100% exact same for me including the phone app. That is a very serious pinch tho ... AND you really would need to call ahead because some campgrounds now don't want EVs since it can be 40 amps continuous for many hours and their systems were not designed for that (plugs and perhaps wiring connections being not perfect -- read resistance heating).

Yeah totally different lol, but ok. Work suburban work delivering produce vs. a personal truck.

Chassis that are bought naked vs. a personal truck= not the same. Nice hit job!

I was being facetious about the range and hit comparison, but they claimed "up to 200 miles" making the rounds on C&D, Motor Trend, etc on 120kWh pack (later bumped to 140kWh plus). So no, they didn't figure out a special battery formula. They couldn't pull it off and switched exclusively to the commercial B4/B5 which if it makes it to reality is rated at 110-200 miles. Can't defend miles on a vaporware truck, but I can make any claim I want on a truck that doesn't exist (ie Cybertruck 2019). Cheers!

You can get used Model 3s for 25k now.
Less I think. I wonder if Tesla will try to make me a deal at the end of my lease. I might buy it out for $15000. I doubt they will be able to sell it for much more after my 3 years, 5% battery degradation and little remaining warranty.

I’m with you man. What am I supposed to sleep on the ground like a savage?? ?
Some of my best nights sleeping was on the ground.

Savages had no access to the great car camping mattresses that are available now. It's not "camping" to me if I'm not sleeping on the ground. I don't even like sleeping in hammocks.

Yeah that seems pretty low for your Y. Honestly man, after reading your posts here, it sounds one like you should just cancel and eat the $1k. The CT is likely not for you

This whole process seems like it’s messing with your mental health!

Cheers and good luck man!

? Yep. Not too happy right now. Very, very disappointed with all of it. Such a shame too. If they had delivered half of what they promised it would have been cool.

Yeah I hear ya. Honestly now that I’m 50+, I’m afraid I wouldn’t get be able to stand up straight again for days if I slept on the ground again.

I’m paying dearly for the physical indiscretions of my youth…

Worth it!! ?
