"As we improve our Autopilot technology, our feature sets will change. Accordingly, Autosteer will
not be available for Cybertruck outside of Full Self-Driving (Supervised)."

All info is clear that Autopilot is a combo of 2 things ("suite"): AutoSteer (lane centering) AND TACC (aka Adaptive Cruise Control -- distance to car ahead).

See manual differences in this post:

Below says the Cybertruck will not get AutoPilot AutoSteer feature 1 of 2.

Tesla Model X manual shows complete Autopilot with TACC and Autosteer.

Disappointing but I guess it makes sense. Doing that essentially forces more people to pay them for FSD if they want any kind of driving assistance and it also provides Tesla with more data to improve their FSD.

Autopilot (Autosteer) is synonymous with Tesla to me.

CT not having Autosteer standard is a miss IMO.

I agree, every other Tesla comes with autosteer as a base feature. Tesla is always talking about how safe their cars are because of autopilot but with the cybertruck you have to pay for that safety? ?? for 80k it should be standard .

It should, but we are going into economic tightening and Tesla can’t sell these… let’s be real.

We are even a tier under the model X and S and my S barely gets any love anymore! Elon bad man!

I suspect a "free" variant of FSD will surface which would be better than autopilot by far. The problem is autopilot was based on a old stack never written for the cybertruck which is a large step in the opposite direction than they are headed. So... I bet after this free year is up a free variant is ready...

For that matter, I bet all the other S3XY cars have their autopilot replaced by whatever is coming...

I agree, they are kicking the can down the road to figure out what to do. I free version of FSD that doesn't include unsupervised or enable Robotaxi.... something like that possibly.

Fully agree. Cybertruck steering (among other things probably) works different than other vehicles so standard autopilot isn’t compatible it seems. No reason to go backwards and rewrite standard autopilot to make it work with Cybertruck when FSD is the new thing.

This is essentially a rewording of what you already said, but I fully suspect standard autopilot in the future will be FSD, with all the improved logic it has(no phantom braking), with lane keeping and traffic aware cruise as the only enabled functions.

Yep; safety and accelerating the transition to EV's is their mission so it stands to reason they'd move people to something safer than autopilot was. Ad supported FSD? Free up to a certain number of miles and pay per mile? Supervised + wheel nags on the free one? Lots of options.
