Good points.
If the trim I scraped up can be removed and replaced more than a few times without wearing or breaking its fastening points or their mates on the tailgate, I could keep a “dress” piece on hand for my occasional OCD episodes ?
Well after 2000 miles I’ve managed to break both my rear rocker fairings. One side because of a tree branch and one side because of dead armadillo on the road. Both times driving on some dark roads.

Hopefully Tesla service wont beat me upside the head getting these fixed.

The first time you go off-roading they get knocked off as well... we are working on a solution now!

My beast was just delivered without both rear fairings I couldn’t believe it
Do you have a picture? Dying to see what it looks like without them.

Also really want to know what kind of efficiency hit you take with them off. I know the mirrors being removed didn't really move the needle, so I am hoping the same is true of these.

Just posting my thought, i broke both offroading and removed rhem. Its not hard at all! 8 10mm bolts and you can pull off the whole rocker panel, then a T35? to unscrew the rear fairings. First side took me 25 minutes, second side 15 minutes!
@Mettalicron, picture with them off?

That’s probably because they’ve been delivering trucks without them and likely need to prioritize the supply to those ones first. They tell me my truck isn’t the first that was delivered without them

That’s a new one ?
It looks like they're pretty exposed and fragile. Deleting them in some cosmetically clean way might be a good thing for some folks, especially for off-roading.

Yeah, the off-road guide recommends removal.

Only minor issue is the rear wheel liner pins to the aero fairings so it's slightly less secure with those removed.

Tesla or someone else needs to make a replacement that finishes and protects the spot where they were removed, but gives additional clearance.

Update:

I had my 100 miles/24 Hour service appointment finally after 2 months to get some panels aligned. I added on the service ticket that I broke both my rear fairings and would like to get them fixed on the same visit. The gave me a Model X loaner through the weekend.

Picked up the truck today and they replaced the right fairing for free and ordered a left fairing and asked me to come back when it comes in. No charge.

Not all Tesla service stories are bad ?

It has been a few months… has anyone found a solution to cosmetically removing the rear rocker fairings? First time off road- crunch. Stupid

Nice!!

Tesla did the same for me. Right/rear cracked a bit after I hit something on the road (still not sure what it was). They replaced for free while my CT was in for wiper motor/sail applique.
