yeah, “confirmed” is misleading. It’s more like “Tesla security guard: truck is 5% smaller,…”

we can say with certainty no mid-gate though.
Well, at least this prototype doesn't have a mid gate, that doesn't mean the final version won't have the feature.

The thing i was most disappointed in was in the q/a it was pretty clear that ct won't have bidirectional charging. I'd rather put my money in a 500 mile ct than a 300 mile ct plus a powerwall.

CYBER ? ? COMPACT TRUCK

MAJOR DISAPOINTMENT. I recall Elon stating that a 3% size redution would be
too much. This 5% is outrageous. Particularly the decrease in bed size. It's
probally ok for the "urban cowboys" and fine for groceries. If you have any
need to carry larger size loads you will need to tow a trailer.
(50% range reduction). I have been obsessed with the truck since the pro-type,
I do like most of the improvements, but this has dampend my enthusiasm. Maybe
they can lower the price 5%.
Secretly Tesla is showing us something without clueing us in.

They decided to make the Wolverine version. Some of these prototypes are Wolverine. The original prototypes are original concept Cybertruck.

LOL - like I know anything.

Some specs for y'all! (From the employee standing there with the truck at Investor Day.)
  • 6x4 bed size
  • 5 seats instead of 6.
  • Can't fit 6 with the shrink that happened.
  • 5% stated.
  • No pass through.
  • Will have a frunk.
  • Multiple tire options.
  • 18's on display truck
  • Waiting on length overall

Guess I'll be selling my spot. I was mainly interested in the 6th seat. Will still need my 3rd row SUV.

Hope they follow numerical orders, 9k in line, I'll make bank.

I thought I heard them say bidirectional charging on all vehicles within about 2 years. Cybertruck could be the first.
This person heard it in the Q&A too.

Excellent summary and pictures:

Wow, 5% reduction in overall size, more then I was expecting from the prototype dimensions.

I can see the removal of the 6th seat upsetting to some.

No pass through will definitely upset some. I didn’t really care either way but I know some would have benefited from it.

I’ll take tires with the most range offered, lol. Speaking of range, any deets on that?

Thanks for the updates @greggertruck
I’m definitely not happy about the 6 seats no longer being a thing. The pass-through would’ve been a nice addition since the truck bed got shorter.

Can’t really sell your spot. You can buy your truck and sell it however. But if they catch you you’ll never get another Tesla lol

Many are thinking that the CT will be the last vehicle that they ever buy...

It will be interesting to see how Tesla reacts to CT flippers. Denying warranty service would be a major deterrent.

Seeing as they announced they are integrating the user profiles in car and online more intimately to the point they can add rental cars to your account with your in vehicle preferences as soon as you get assigned a rental car, I'm willing to bet they will be able to tell a flipper instantly when the flipper transfers the car over to the new owners account literally days or months after purchase. Pretty easy to do internal queries on time between the original owner claims the vehicle in their account and when that owner transfers the vehicle to a new owner that isn't obviously a relative.
