Optional Mid gate confirmed. Clearly, its manually opened by pulling on that handle.

I think you're seeing the firewall. The casting flow marks travel across the rear casting (which is in the lower left).

Nope, this right here. The piece in red is stamped, IMO. At the bottom, the "horns" of the casting do protrude, and you see some of the casting below the stamped section also.

I’m confused, aside from the posts of obvious banter, why anything about this photo is relevant to the midgate above and beyond these form month’s back:

That's a bulkhead. It's not between castings, but part of the safety cage.

But it does form the aft wall of the passenger cabin, which is what I was getting at. And it does fit between the rear castings. TIes into the base and both uprights.

I'm a retired Aviation Ordnanceman, when I saw that in the movie, all I thought was man, could I load some aircraft with that thing....... And I might not have two spinal fusions today :)

The castings are all entirely to the rear of the bulkhead.

The rear casting is singular. It has 'scrap' painted on it.

In prior pictures it looked like the upper wings of the casting - above the wheel wells - were bolted on, but this either doesn't have the resolution, or does not show that they are separate. The wings might still be separate, I can't tell from here.

So now we have to dig out that thread again and figure out who was closest to the front firewall position. It's going to be close! ?

Now if they would have found a different spot for that HVAC junk in the frunk, the frunk could have been HUGE! Bigger than a Lightning even! :ROFLMAO:

Actually, in the x-ray the pack looks like it's going under the vault cover?? And all the way up the front close to the motor, with the wheel arches cut out of the pack corners?

Can this be? That's at least another foot of battery pack. There might room for another 20kWh in there or more.

160kWh single layer?
Highly Possible....
Upto 175 kWh pack could give the 'promised' 500 Mi range in the TRI or future QUAD (PLAID)
Know soon ......
I'm gonna cross my fingers, my heart, my eyes and my 'CyberBra' (bugs + stone chips)

an obvious reinforced spot to press your foot against while pulling the handle when it gets stuck;

Pay no attention to these Mid-gate deniers who are always too preoccupied with facts, reality and truth. All the outdated concepts that keep you from enjoying the anticipation of return of mid-gate on the promised day. People need to just let go of what they think they know and simply believe.

And as you pull down the midgate over the back seats, the handle is also used as a foot on the floor to hold the back of the midgate at exactly the flat level height of the bed.

Looking at the red circle areas in the photo below, I see the very front-most portion of the rear casting. I assume the vertical holes there are for bolting the casting to the battery pack instead of the midgate wall.
