Is PCS failure an AC charging wear and tear issue? If I predominantly supercharge, am I less likely to have failure - or is it unrelated to one’s AC vs DC charging preference.

I have no alerts but can’t charge above 24amps. 99% of my charging is via 110v or supercharging. Im surprised with this b/c I was under the impression high AC charging was the culprit to failed PCS. I went to Tesla and had them plug my truck into their wall charger and verified it was only pulling 24 amp with a preconditioned battery and low state of charge.

If you haven't already, try checking the service menu to see if it's generating any errors.

I'm not experiencing any issues yet, but I just checked mine and it's showing "PCS2_a127_cycloAgdpsHealth CheckFailed". I've booked an appointment.

To get to the service menu, tap the car icon to bring up the menu, tap Software and then hold the Cybertruck logo for at least 2 seconds. Then type "service" (mine requires lowercase) and tap "OK". You'll see an option for errors - tap that.

To get out of service mode, tap Software and "Exit Service Mode".

We can verify the site accuracy with rev# from people who already got PCS replaced.
The website is accurate. I had my PCS replaced over a month ago and the website shows my VIN as having rev G.
You can use it to check what Rev you have.

In a way yes. The thermal fatigue on board/mosfets is driven by repeated heating/cooling cycles. If the board/mosfets aren't used (as is mostly the case for DC charging) they wouldn't see that degradation. In the case of PCS it is not '"normal" wear and tear but the failure is due to design/manufacturing process that makes this failure much more likely than it should. Also, charging at lower rates (say 24Amp) will cause less degradation of board/mosfets.

Just supercharged with no issues. Also noticed in my specs and warranty section they added free supercharging until July 20th. Not sure if they’ll pull that off my account when the part gets swapped, but we’ll see.

My PCS just got replaced last week and I still have the free supercharging until July 23 as of today. Service Center originally said mid to late May for repair, I dropped it last week off since it had no AC charging, and they got parts and had it fixed 3 days later

Is the “28k-77k” the VINs that are effected?

Thanks, my version is E and VIN @35K. I thought it might mean that those VINs had a known defective PCS. Fortunately, mine is still error free 🤞 but I am dropping the amps to 24 until I hear they have the verified fix version in stock. ( I have free lifetime SC and it is working too. )

So is this something that pretty much every cybertruck is going to experience?

I was notified to schedule my appointment in the Tesla app last night. I thought somehow the PCS replacement had arrived already. Scheduled the appointment and got a message today that they’ll have to push the appointment until the unit arrives. I expected that, but the wait continues with me supercharging instead of home charging. Low power mode 24/7 pretty much. Wonder how long this will take.

Update on my PCS failure. I was given a Beast loaner while waiting for the parts to arrive, but parts aren’t expected until mid May. Tesla contacted me and saying they updated my firmware to allow DC charging (I had tried supercharging previously and it didn’t work). They are giving me 2 free months of supercharging

We have no idea as we don't have any official word from Tesla. All we have is a collection of reports from customers with vins etc. With that you can figure out your PCS version.

We don't even know for sure if G officially solved the problem yet. Is it better but still fails again after 30-40k miles instead of ~15k? Time will tell I guess.
