Sounds like something is wrong with yours.
Agreed. Sounds like something’s wrong.

FSD has been really good on mine. Yes, there are times it rides the left lane line on the highway, and sometimes on a curve on the highway it’ll straddle the dashed lane divider lines but overall it’s really fantastic.

We have a 2024 Model 3 and FSD is a bit smoother on it but I don’t think Cybertruck is that far off from it.

Get it checked out, something is not right. Save the dashcams and show to the SC.

I'm not sure what happened, but the cybertruck is downright dangerous on the freeway when using FSD. It drifts far outside of the lane on every turn, it crosses multiple lanes of traffic on a turn, and just cannot keep a lane. In town, it actually drives ok. I've recalibrated the cameras but no help there. It used to work ok, but now it's completely unusable. Am I the only one that notices this? If everyone else is able to use it with success then perhaps I need to take my truck in for some underlying issue.

My M3 FSD works like a champ and I absolutely love it. I wish I could use the CT with the same level of confidence. There was a time when the CT's FSD was pretty good so I know it's possible.

My CT is an earlier truck (VIN 700's) and I've owned for 18 months. I absolutely love this truck and I almost hope it's just something wrong with mine so they can maybe fix it (as opposed to the usual answer which is we must continue waiting).
I concur. FSD works fine at slower speeds, but runs off the road repeatedly at 70+. Typically I run into the shoulder on the right, or over the center line into oncoming traffic on the left. This probably happens once every 5 miles. I have done all the reset things, recalibrations, etc. The car just does not follow the road. It may be the road database from TomTom though. Sometimes the car will hit a deadstop and Uturn on a freeway in order to take a nothing dirt road "shortcut", just to put me back on the freeway 1/2 mile ahead after a 5 mile detour. I have written about this many times on this forum. My model 3 FSD works great. The Cybertruck is dangerous.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. I usually drive over 70 on the freeway. Perhaps I’ll try the FsD at lower speeds to see if that helps

Get a 4 wheel alignment done. If you are constantly having to put pressure on the wheel.

I usually don’t drive with FSD on local roads. Mainly because I like to drive and not have an AI/computer drive for me. Also, quite honestly, it doesn’t drive like the way I like to drive. As for the highway, I only have one problem. In Atlanta, in particular, when you have an EV and special license plates you are allowed to drive on HOV lanes by yourself (for now, I’m sure they take that away sooner or later). FSD constantly wants to take my CyberTruck out of HOV lane. I always have to intervene. Settings are even set to use the HOV lanes. I don’t get it.

70+ sucks. All over the place around trucks. Loves going over lines as well. Rumble strips at 80 wakes all the dogs up. Annoying as F.

Mine (VIN 66,xxx) is also unreliable in FSD, but worse on surface streets and almost OK on freeways. While using FSD 13.2.9 in my Cybertruck it made a bad left turn. It stayed in the wrong lane until I took over the driving. Bad Left Turn

Wow, surprised to read all of the negative FSD experiences on Cybertruck. I've had minimal to no issues with FSD on back roads as well as 75+mph on the highway.

I'd really like to know what the real challenges are that Tesla's AP team is dealing with regarding Cybertruck's differences from rest of the fleet.

Just got back from a 6hr road trip yesterday, 90% FSD and I will say 95% of the time it was spot on and no issues... a few times, as others have stated, its on that line like a cocaine addict. Other items such as not slowing down like it should when you get into the small towns along the way, although that has gotten better and getting back up to speed once you leave the smalll town was slower than I liked. Best part of my road trip was having a nice conversation about the truck with a couple gentlemen who were curious.

Yeah, it floats/drifts out of its lane on curves, as if it doesn't fully realize how much momentum it has. Just a few days ago, I recorded this crossing the center line on my narrow country road, at about 45mph. It only went about 6" over, but still, it shouldn't happen. I also have a 3 with FSD, that used to drift when we first got FSDv12, so I know it can be fixed. It's why Tesla needs more driving footage to train the neural net.

I'm on FSD 13.2.9. It works very well and I use it for 99% of my drives. Some things which are improved on mine from prior versions:

  • Stays in lane better - it rarely drifts left in a lane, but I haven't been in high winds yet, and that will be the test

  • Doesn't brake late - 13.2.8 had a habit of braking super late - right on the edge of a panic intervention, and enough to make my wife's purse fly off her lap and into the floor. This version brakes with plenty of margin of error and I'm much more comfortable with it.

  • Is more assertive when changing lanes - prior version would leave the signal on for miles before actually executing a lane change.

Things which haven't improved:

  • Still changes into a lane that's about to end, every time. True of left or right lanes that are ending.

  • On a double lane left turn, it still starts from the outside lane and ends on the inside lane, including if there's someone turning in that lane - it cuts them off.

  • There's a routine 90 degrees right turn near my house that no version of FSD has been able to do without a mid turn wobble - nothing special about the corner, but FSD continues to struggle with it.

Things that have gotten worse: nothing.

My guess: the NN training data is based on Tesla's cars that all have the cameras significantly lower than the Cybertruck. The differing angle throws off the estimation of distance/position.

Alternately, it could be SbW? I fail to understand why autopark often goes back-and-forth multiple times when I could back straight in on the first try. It's not like the parked cars are moving...?
