"if" there is traffic. How would I know there is traffic before I got to the intersection? Basically you're saying stop (turn off FSD) before the intersection, which again defeats the point of FSD.
This is the supervision you should have done given that you were familiar with this intersection already. The S in FSD is the part that makes it a success. I use FSD in my truck all the time, but I know certain locations where it is going to have a problem because even humans have a problem at these places. So you turn off FSD or you brake/speed up at these locations.

Just so we are extraordinarily clear on this topic.
Your incessant idiotic ranting has absolutely nothing to do with the point of this thread.

If FSD is in use, and a situation arises where intervention is needed, that is an FSD failure according to Elon Musk.

This thread is not about making assumptions or placing blame. It is simply documenting, with video, an FSD failure, which everyone, especially Tesla, should find helpful.

FSD fail? You must have a software release I don't have. The correct name for the latest feature is "FSD (Supervised)".

You could have avoided this situation if you had been paying attention. I just finished a 2600-mile road trip through rain, sleet, snow, winding mountain roads, highways, strange cities, using "FSD (Supervised)" the entire way. It was in control 99% of the time. I only experienced 4 incidents, one which actually saved me from an accident happening two cars in front of me. I had to pay attention the entire time and I was ready to take over at any moment. If you are not capable of this, you should not be using the feature.

FSD failed big time. I almost died. No amount of manual intervention could have prevented it. Good thing the other driver swerved. FSD is fatally flawed.

I sure hope you're joking and not serious. It's a bug yeah, but FAR from being dangerous and losing your life.

It is a shame to see such harsh criticism of the those bringing these observations to our attention.
The OP is not being criticized for bringing observations to our attention, she's being criticized for acting like she couldn't have prevented the situation. She shouldn't be using FSD if that's her position, it's very dangerous, and dangerous behavior needs to be called out before innocent people are killed.

How was a t-bone possible in that situation? Were you planning on making a left from the merge lane?
That intersection has no merge lane, it ends abruptly. A few seconds earlier and this would be a non-issue. A split second later and it would be a t-bone. Almost means nearly but not quite.

If you watch Chuck Cooks Youtube FSD drives (and if you don't, why not?), there is a significant difference between FSD on his Ai4 Model Y and his Ai4 Cybertruck. The cars are currently on the same FSD software version and the Cybertruck has many intervention issues while the Model Y does not. They will both be much better soon (or, 2 weeks in Elon speak). :)

It's a short merge. Vehicles going left or across the intersection have no merge and could get t-boned (vehicles traveling at right angles to each other). Right turns either get side swiped or rear ended.
