I don't understand the interest in the exact sizing of the protoype at the museum.

We know it is different in significant ways from the truck that is about to be released.
EXACTLY!

Wait a few months, and production CTs will be driving out of Giga Texas and into customer's possession.

You're just saying that so I don't have a reason to come to the USA next month anymore!?????

I'm sure you can find an excuse. BTW L.A. is not a great destination in the USA. I'm born and raised in So. Cal. but the cities are not where I like to be.

Well tell me more about all the great places to go, we're going to be hitting the road in a RV for a few weeks, then staying in Texas for a few more. Would be good to get some insider knowledge.

I'm not that big a fan of cities either, last few times I was in LA were a bit of a disappointment, in particular most US cities were sort of meh I'm afraid, given the hype. NY was the only one that met closer with expectations.

Sort of want to show my boys (ahem young men now ..) a broad range of both cultural and natural environments, in the hope of finding somewhere we feel right at home to setup some US based CT affiliated RV business.

I visited the Peterson the first time the Cybertruck was displayed. My initial impressions;

-The styling is brilliant
-The windshield and front valance are slightly curved
-The fit and finish was rough. I know it’s a concept truck, but…
-The truck is much better looking in person. It looks awkward in 2D photos/videos but the truck looks WAY better when seen in the flesh

Trust me on one thing. Many CT haters are calling the CT ugly, a doorstop, awkward, etc. Those who didn’t reserve a CT early on will be be kicking themselves when they start seeing Cybertrucks on the roads. It’s going to be a game changer in the pickup truck segment.

If Tesla prices the Dual Motor Cybertruck in the mid $60’s it’s game over for the Rivian R1T pickup truck.

Production versions won’t tell us about dimensions and features of the original prototype. And data about the original prototype are interesting, to some. And may be useful when the production comes out.

For just one hypothetical: when the CT comes out and official dimensions are known, this forum will fill with folks and some will take positions such as “the original was so cool and had a huge bed, but this production version has a small bed”

To which (hypothetically) we might reply: “the on-stage version was never the expected dimensions; and in any event, the bed narrowed from the on stage prototype by only [2.2”] and in exchange we gained standard 4WS”

In any event it’s not as though someone is flying from Australia to accomplish this - but someone’s going, and it wouldn’t take much effort to satisfy even minor curiosity

A full stainless bed would have been awesome from a durability standpoint. Problem? It would have added weight to an already heavy vehicle. A composite bed was a good call by Tesla.

I too wish to make a pilgrimage, but alas, it lies across the seas

Innovation is obvious
While we were there, we met a nice young couple from backward toilet land!

Sounds like a horrible place. This is how rumours are born. Our toilets still work the same and it still goes down the tube when you flush. It just swirls the other way more often than in the northern hemisphere. ?

I have to admit that the first time I visited Australia, one of the first things I did when I got to the hotel was flush the toilet.
I'm disappointed you didn't flush the airplane lav as you crossed the equator
