Dumping them in the parking lot lets Tesla do a couple of things:
1. Preposition them for scrap.
2. Allows them to cool from 1200 degrees outside rather than heat up the building more.
3. Creates excitement for the Cybertruck without expense. In fact, it's probably saving them money putting them outside rather than paying more to cool the place because of the extra heat these would give off upstairs.
Option 3, TyPope.

They had them outside on a Friday AM when Joe flys. At arguably the most watched spot of GFTX.

This is very intentional.

I don't believe it is. Did the Model Y have a central sprue that massive relative to the size of the entire casting? If you look closely, you will see that the heaviest part of the casting (the round bowl) doesn't have large channels connecting it to the bulk of the casting (for example around the wheel wells). It looks more like it is structurally isolated from the bulk of the casting in such a manner that would lend itself to gracefully breaking away in an impact if the impact was violent enough.

However, we will see soon enough.
yes, it did.

So the tuning fork shape is cut away as well?
I was thinking it might be that way to dial out harmonics
For the sake of brevity, they've decided Cybertruck doesn't need to be literally "performance tuned".

Not the first time. There are giant piles of Model Y castings out there too. Might be scarp.
I'll take those...... all 45.

The rear castings are multi piece. Folks, welcome to the same casting used in the cyber van. The attached castings would be different.

Tesla tends to build up huge piles of castings and use them steadily. Before the Model Y used the castings, they ended up literally ringing Fremont with piles of them.

They're big, they don't need them yet, they gotta sit somewhere, they don't really care about the weather...
