As opposed to the vast majority of CEOs who under promise and under deliver?

But mostly, it's not really possible to accurately specify how long it is going to take to deliver the impossible.

It was only a very few years ago, that what Elon was doing with both SpaceX and Tesla was literally and functionally impossible.

Like I said, a timeline of the impossible is, well, impossible?
You're 100% right. That's why most companies do not promise, they only deliver when ready. At my company its policy to not give timelines for feature or bug fixes. The original "boy who cried wolf" story (Greek version) is thousands of years old, its not a new lesson to learn.

Its amazing what SpaceX and Tesla have accomplished, I do not think Elon needs to overpromise anymore, just deliver.

I see on TeslaFi that a Cybertruck got 12.3.6 today. Anyone here? Is FSD enabled?
Well technically all Cybertrucks are on FSD 12.3.6 since the 2024.26 and most 2004.20 branches have FSD 12.3.6, unfortunately 12.3.6 doesn't support the Cybertruck. ? Yes I'm being facetious but it is true.

I'm comparing to the auto industry which brings out all sorts of prototypes that never make it to the factory floor.
All of these had no production intent.

Of course you may say that the Bel Air made it into production. This is an electric one.

Man I would have preferred to keep that $8k and just purchase when ready. Taken way too long! Tesla earns all the interest on our funds.

It was and still is an option.

Said by someone who paid for it in 2018 and again in 2020.

Well day 1 of AUG and I haven't gotten FSD.... butttt I got 2024.26.3.1 !! lol
Elon said 2-4 weeks "ish" weeks not even a full 2 weeks ago. You have a wait. You'll see updates going out before it's time. Employees usually get it about 2 weeks before mass customers. That will begin the countdown when we see employees are getting FSD on their CTs.

As long as it comes out before I get my CB, I’ll be happy. One thing for sure, when it comes out it will have a lot of kinks. After all, FSD for all of the other Tesla didn’t have to deal with steer-by-wire and four wheel steering. With that said, I would side with caution to all Cybertruck owners to pay to CLOSE attention when using it.

PLEASE spend a few weeks driving without FSD before trying it. Get used to the vehicle first.

I suspect that when it comes out, it will be pretty close to how the other vehicles drive. I mean it's not as if FSD didn't drive by wire before!
